Michael Savage is offering Newt a million dollars to drop out of the race, and I'm starting to think Newt should take the money.

Newt did say that the palestinians are an invented people, and I say it's about damn time someone spoke the truth on national TV.

While we are on the subject, there are still several rockets a day coming out of Gaza and striking Southern Israel. Yeah that hasn't stopped in months.

I know there is a lot of controversy around the Muppet Movie, but I've seen it and it's good clean Muppet fun.

Of course Sesame Street is a complete loss, their latest character is a "poor, hungry" muppet who talks about how the government can help feed her.

The same government that hid information about the Chevy Volt's catching on fire because they own Chevy and didn't want to hurt sales.

When 8.6% Is Really 17.2%

I know it's been forever since my last post. I recently moved from Victorville to Los Angeles, I also started a new job. Which is a good thing since I was unemployed for nearly two years before this. That means by the White House numbers I wasn't looking for work anymore and therefore didn't count towards the unemployment numbers.

Take this week's unemployment change, The number dropped form 9% to 8.6%, now normally that would be great, but the Obama admin skews the number for their own good. Last month 115,000 jobs were added to the overall numbers. Though that in itself in not enough to lower the rate by 0.4, good thing after 99 weeks an additional 320,ooo people are dropped off the list of unemployed with added to the 115k is 435,000 jobs (added) to drop the official unemployed numbers to 13,896,456.

Beyond that fallacy lies an even larger one. The actual number of unemployed is 25,029,907. Every week some more people fall off the "unemployed" list, not because they got jobs but because they "stopped looking". I can tell you the whole two years I was unemployed I never stopped looking. When you add the "stopped looking" people back into the list you get the 17.2% that are actually unemployed.

Obama desperately needs the unemployment numbers under 9%, no president in modern history has been re-elected with unemployment over 8%, and while 8.6% is over watch the msm they will only acknowledge 8% and push how the great Obama saved the day. Time to take the wool off your eyes, and spread the word. Tell your friends and neighbors not to fall for the administration's illusions.

They're Coming

It should be no surprise to anyone who knows me or regularly reads this blog that I am a gun owner. I believe the 2nd Amendment to be just as important as the first if not more so. (Actually I think the entire Bill of Rights is important and if we lose one amendment the rest will fall like dominoes). We know that most democrats hate guns, strike that, most democrats hate regular citizens having guns. It is easier to control a disarmed population. When the Obama administration tried some overt gun law action it was trounced and the president told radical left wing activist Sarah Brady about more gun control; “I just want you toknow that we are working on it,” ... “We have to go through a few processes,but under the radar.” So again it is no surprise that he president is backingthis U.N. Small Arms Treaty and calling it harmless to everyday Americans. Butlets take a closer look, Larry Bell from Forbes put it this way, if the US Senateratifies this "treaty" it will have the following effect;

Enact tougher licensing requirements, creating additional bureaucratic red tape for legal firearms ownership.

Confiscate and destroy all “unauthorized” civilian firearms (exempting those owned by our government of course).

Ban the trade, sale and private ownership of all semi-automatic weapons (any that have magazines even though they still operate in the same one trigger pull – one single “bang” manner as revolvers, a simple fact the ant-gun media never seem to grasp).

Create an international gun registry, clearly setting the stage for full-scale gun confiscation.

In short, overriding our national sovereignty, and in the process, providing license for the federal government to assert preemptive powers over state regulatory powers guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment in addition to our Second Amendment rights.

Remember what I said earlier, this is two amendments gone in one harmless treaty. Former UN Ambassador John Bolton has warned 2nd Amendment advocates the the U.N. “is trying to act as though this is really just a treaty about international arms trade between nation states, but there is no doubt that the real agenda here is domestic firearms control.” Obama has been stacking the deck for gun control in his administration and court picks for a long time. When he said "under the radar" he wasn't kidding. Hillary Clinton, Greg Nickels, Andrew Travers, and the highly anti-gun Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor are just a few of the radical gun control advocates Obama has foisted on us.

Meanwhile the FBI released the official numbers for crime in 2010 and despite the sales of "evil" guns going up since 2008, the number of gun related crimes had gone down for the fourth straight year. In her new book "Chicks with Guns" author Lindsay McCrum says that 15-20 million women in the US are gun owners and proud. She speaks on the stereotypes attributed to guns and women of all ages, ethnicity and social classes love their guns. It's a unique relationship America has with guns, an amazing freedom where as many people own guns for recreation as those who use them for protection.

There are many who fear guns, most fear what they do not understand, but our Founding Fathers knew what they were doing when they gave us the Constitution. They took rights God bestowed upon us and made clearly available to all. That is the reason why 235 years later America is still the shining example of freedom on this planet.

Then Came Cain

Editorial note: I know it's been a while since my last post. I have been having technical difficulties and it took too long to get them settled. Thank You for your patience.

Last week the MSM had declared the GOP presidential race a two man race. I never thought so, Herman Cain has always been a front runner to me, and now others are starting to see that politicians are all the same and Cain is no politician.

In his new autobiography "This Is Herman Cain" (out Oct 4), he talks about ending the cavalcade of stars going through the White House, that alone will save the taxpayers big bucks. He also talks about his fight (and victory) with cancer and how he plans to deal with his lack of foreign policy experience.

And while the MSM is brushing it off as a nothing story, Cain scored 34% to 39% against Obama in a Rasmussen poll. This is the first time Obama polled below 40%. This bounce could be a fluke, but Cain's 9-9-9 plan seems to be resonating with Americans and like me many are tired of the same old politics as usual.

Mitt Romney is also still polling high and considered the front runner, but Mitt is the John McCain of 2012. Barely conservative and a you know if the media likes him, that means he's bad news for us. Ultimately I don't know if Herman Cain can secure the republican nomination, but I do know that the election is still over a year away and the front runner this time in 2007 was not John McCain. A lot changes in a year.

As I reflect on 9/11/2001, many many things come to mind. Frustration over the site itself, the insignificant structures being built and the despicable mayor bloomberg that didn't allow clergy to the memorial or make enough space for all the First Responders. The lack of heart in the hijackers and their backward religion, if you love death there is no place for you in this world. Sorrow for the lost, the innocent who were just going about their day on a beautiful September morning. Most of all Pride, pride in the Firefighters and Police Officers who went well above and beyond to save people and ultimately sacrifice their own lives. Pride in our Soldiers who for 10 years have tirelessly fought and died so this atrocity would never be repeated, and pride in the People of America who despite a weak leader are standing strong in their values and beliefs.

This is and will always be a solemn day of remeberance, not of service like Obama would like you to believe, but a day to remember the fallen and the survivors. Most importantly so we never forget and never let it happen again.

Debate On Debates

So after watching the msnbc GOP debate last night I have a few questions. First I have to point out that Herman Cain is still being largely ignored at all of the debates. Before it was not just Cain getting ignored, Gary Johnson was ignored to the point of disappearing from this debate altogether. Ron Paul was also sidelined at previous debates but last night was given lots of face time. Cain was asked four questions in 2 hours and pushed himself into a couple rebuttal answers. Mostly I blame the media, they have made their choice and it is going to be a two man race from here on out, unless Romney of Perry burn out for some reason. I still say we need to leave the politicians behind and put someone in the White House who knows business and is not a beltway insider.

Now for some questions;

Why do journalist run these debates?

Why not people who know what they are talking about rather than bobble-heads who just read what's in front of them?

Why let the media dictate topics and set up the candidates to argue with each other?

What will it take to get substantive questions and not lightning round nothingness?

While the others argue the same "social security is broken" points, Herman Cain lays out a plan for how to fix it. That's what I want form all the candidates, more detailed plans on how they are going to undo the mess Obama has put us in and how they plan to put us back on track.

So it's come out that the Libyan rebel leader has ties with AlQeada, SURPRISE... Wait we knew that.

Another "Green Company", Solyndria, who received millions in stimulus and heavy praise from 0babma has gone belly up. The 0bama curse is the only sucessful thing 0bama's name is attached to.

Did you notice the zeros in mt 0bama spelling? I though it fitting since there were ZERO jobs created in the month of August.

All the babble on and between Perry, Romney and Bachmann reminds me of one thing Herman Cain.

Over the holiday 43 people were shot in New York city. Good thing guns are banned there or it would be like the wild west or something.

Obama promised to cut the deficit in half before his first term ended. Something tells me they won't release his school records because he was horrible at math.

I like Sarah Palin, but I'm also one of the many that don't want her to run for president. The RNC chair seems a better fit for her.

So far it's just a coincidence that all of these x-tra post are regarding California. This one will be no different.

As of Monday Gov. Moonbeam will sign AB131, better known as the California Dream Act. A bill stating that illegal alien college students in California would be eligible to receive publicly funded financial aid. While it won't provide a "path to citizenship" like the federal version AB!131 will cost the already broke state of California 40,000,000,000 (billion) dollars.

Assemblyman Curt Hagman, R-Chino Hills says "Here today we don't have enough slots for all the students in California who want to attend our great institutions, there just aren't enough. So until the federal government makes immigration reform a priority and tackles that, what are we doing? We're offering false promises." Hagman also pointed out that the while the illegal students might end up with a degree it is still illegal for them to work in the state of California.

Democrats in CA are hoping this will help force the federal dream act through and pressure Obama to deal with the immigration issue. By deal with I mean giving amnesty to up to 50 million illegal aliens that invaded our Country and will be rewarded for disregarding our laws. I don't know any other place on earth that does that, and if I did I would avoid that place at all cost.

I was reading an article from the Canadian Globe and Mail, and was pleasantly surprised to read that our northern neighbors are starting to get a clue on electric cars. That clue being they are not green, not clean and not feasible for society. All these tree huggers driving their electric cars seem to forget the charge for these short range power suckers comes from power plants, most of which burn coal. The article doesn't even get into battery cost and how many batteries you need. Not to mention the cost of disposing of the batteries every 3-5 years that they have to be replaced (same issue for hybrids btw). Something to think about before you go and buy one of these stupid cars.

I know since the Amazon thing went down I haven't been blogging. Some of it was Amazon and some of it was a weird burnout. In order to get back into posting, I've decided to do a daily mini post just to keep me posting.

Today's X-tra shines some light on some California craziness; So you are headed out for the evening and you call the neighbor girl to come over and watch little Johnny for a few hours. She's 18 fresh out of high school and happy to sit on your couch, eat your ice cream and watch your kid 3 hours for $20. But a new bill in Calif. Assembly bill 889 (sponsored solely by democrats) is getting fast tracked and will mean for every 2 hours of babysitting the neighbor girl (we'll call her Mandy) needs a 15 min break and minimum wage. Oh and if you are late be prepared to shell out overtime and pray Mandy doesn't get hurt tripping on little Johnny's skateboard, that's workers comp. God forbid Mandy sneaks Bobby over and gets knocked up, then there's maternity leave. Yeah I'd rather take little Johnny with me. Read details at theunion.com

If we're going to lose our AAA credit rating anyway and we know it's a fallacy that we can't make our payments, I say don't raise the debt ceiling. Force Obama to cut spending in order to pay the bills each month till we have a balanced budget.

Seems like the end of the world guy was wrong, according to CNN and MSNBC the world will end Aug 2nd id the debt ceiling isn't raised.

Did anyone else not know Amy Winehouse was Jewish until her funeral?

Funny how Obama has taken such a huge interest in the "debt crisis" over the last 4 weeks, I seem to remember posting about it here 4 months ago.

McDonald's caved to the First Lady's crazy power and is now including apples in their Happy Meals instead of french fries. I guess they should change the name to Pissed Off Kid Meals.

Republicans always talk about how important "Business Experience" is and how "politics as usual" messes thins up, so how come they are so quick to dismiss Herman Cain as just "some guy that worked in a pizza place"?

Democrats are funny, when you bring up Reagan they say how much they hate him and everything he did and stood for. Until they want to compare Obama to how great he was. Make up your minds!

No Future?

A few days ago the space shuttle Atlantis landed on Earth for the last time. With that we (the USA) have retired our fleet (what's left of it) of shuttles and ended the American space program almost completely. NASA is a former shell of what it once was, devoting more time to climate change (a hoax) and making nice with muslims (that don't care). American, might, industry, ingenuity and pride are being swept out to sea. Thanks partly to the Bush and mostly to the Obama administration's murdering of our economy.

The cost of the entire Apollo program and the Shuttle program combined is right at 400 billion dollars*. While four of five years ago that may have seemed like a lot of money, keep in mind that Obama's failed stimulus that was supposed to keep unemployment under 8.5% cost 800 billion. So for half the cost of the stupid so called stimulus we put men on the moon and space ships going back and forth for 30 years. Add the ISS (international space station, that's called international but essentially we paid for and built the whole thing and let other countries paint their flag on.) in for another 100 billion and it's still sad. The future lies in space and America is giving the future away to China and Russia.

Russia is celebrating, they are now the kings of space and we have to pay them millions of dollars to take our astronauts out to the ISS. Far less glamorous than our shuttle, the principle of Russia's Soyuz rocket and capsule system for sending humans into space has changed little since Yuri Gagarin became the first man in orbit in 1961. Yep we're flying in over fifty year old Russian tech. But it's not that bad, last year they switched the Soyuz capsule from an anolog computer to a digital. Yeah last year...

So the question whether space exploration is really desirable at a time when so much needs doing on here on Earth comes to mind? It is a serious question that requires a serious answer. There are many arguments, from jobs and education to technology development and national security, for keeping us in space. Though one argument stands out, that argument is exploration, and that we should continue to challenge ourselves for the one basic reason; self-preservation as a free creative, intelligent society. As opposed to a stagnating, socialist slave society.

Not Gone

So last Wednesday California decided to join the growing list of states attempting to collect sales tax from web retailers to help find a way to close the state's black hole of a budget. Amazon.com on Tuesday sent me an email warning me that if California passed the law come 9/30/11 they would cut off their affiliate program, but Wed immediately after law passed they sent me another email saying my store was closed and my affiliate links were dead.

California's new law, signed by Governor Jerry Brown on Wednesday, requires online retailers to collect sales tax even if they have no physical presence in the state. How does that work when federal law states they have to have a brick-and-mortar store to qualify? My store had no bricks or mortar. Like the many other states before it, California counts Amazon affiliates who reside in California as a "physical presence." So, my personal blog with affiliate links to Amazon products (you know being unemployed, helped me to make a few bucks on the side), means I am effectively "selling" Amazon products and making money from them via my home in California.

You can go back and check it, I warned you that Gov. Moonbeam would be a bad rerun for California and he is living up to his name. The revenue loss from Amazon alone will be somewhere around $100 million. Not to mention all the small businesses that had to close. Timing couldn't be worse since today the new job report came out and unemployment is up to 9.2%.

Since there is no perfect candidate, I'm sticking to Herman Cain for now. Maybe he can't win, but I still say a non-politician is the best bet.

I'm so angry, the sad state of our economy and the lack of jobs has me figuring which guns I want to sell.

Obama said recently that ATMs are eating up jobs in America. Can you say out of touch?

The biggest issue against Obama in 2012 is he's an incompetent fool.

As much as I am over the story, it's still hilarious that his name is Weiner and he is trouble for lying about his namesake.

My electric tooth brush died, so I am forced to do it the old fashioned way. It's barbaric.

His Time Is Up

Yesterday Obama said his family aren't "invested" in him being president and they would have been OK if he decided against running for re-election. The narcissist and chief still claims he is doing this "For the Country". Mrs.O says that she'd be OK with a less stressful job for her husband. I say let him be unemployed, let him feel the sting of eating nothing but rice and canned tuna for a few months. I am perfectly OK with Barack H. Obama being a one term president. I'm on the Herman Cain train right now, but reality is I don't care which Republican wins the nomination. Anybody but Obama!

Also yesterday at a "Jobs Counsel", Obama had the audacity to crack a joke about the lack of jobs and chuckled along with his new bosom buddy Jeff Imelt from GE. I hope they had had a good time laughing at my expense along with the other 24.2 million people in this country who are unemployed. The Obama administration promised the the stimulus would prevent the jobless rate from going over 8%. It now stands at 9.1% which of course is a doctored number with the actual being more like 17%.

Recently after posting an old video from Steven Crowder about the disarray that is the city of Detroit MI. and citing that the whole country would follow if we don't oust Obama, a friend of mine from Canada said I was scapegoating. Now I know that Bush bears some of the responsibility of this seemingly never ending recession, but the majority of our problems lie squarely on Obama's shoulders and it is not scapegoating to place the blame where it belongs. Obama's Keynesian policies have put the US in a deep hole and no amount of government growth or spending will fix it. Two weeks ago I finished reading Atlas Shrugged (if you haven't read it, read it!), the climax of that story is by far the worst case scenario, but to say we are not on that track is only fooling yourself. The History Channel has been running commercials about fallen empires and then cuts to a shot of the US Capitol, it can happen, no one wants to believe it, but our society is degrading fast and if the mob fights breaking out at coffee shops and fast food joints don't scare you, know it will only get worse.

I'm not saying Obama is the anti-christ or on some sort of quest to destroy the nation. But I will say he is a fool, and if we continue to follow this fool the blame for where he takes us is ours alone. Start now, educate yourself on the candidates and their policies. There is a good range out there. If you're more moderate look at Romney. If you're a Constitutionalist look at Paul. And of course if you are ultra conservative there are a few choices for you. Read up, watch the debates and make sure that when the time come in November 2012 you are on board to save this Great Nation.

Now you know all know or will now that I hate Leno and Letterman and I'm not a huge fan of Conan O'Brien, but his graduation speech at Dartmouth this year was pretty darned good. Watch and take some of his inspiration into your tomorrow.

War Protesters! Where?

When George Bush invaded Afghanistan the war protesters were there, when he invaded Iraq the numbers exploded. War protesters were demonstrating across the country. Holding signs that cursed Bush, his family and even calling for him to be hung. Bush also caught a lot of flak for supporting Israel, even though he did very little to help them.

Today, though winding down we still have troops in Iraq. And if you've been watching the news you know they are still dying. Afghanistan is a complete mess, we have no strategy, no plan to win or even an exit. We have dropped bombs and killed Bin Laden in Pakistan. Months not days later we are still in Libya, without congressional approval by the way and it's not winding down either, boots on the ground is inevitable. Now we are dropping bombs in Yemen. But surprise, surprise the protesters are no where to be found.

No one should be surprised by this. The double standard is so obvious here. When it's a Republican he can do no good, and a Democrat can do no wrong. The MSM is complicit in this as well, during the Bush administration there were daily updates on how many soldiers died. When's the last time you saw a body count on CNN?

Basically if you were one of those pacifist that I argued with at school who said war in never right while Bush was in office but are somehow too busy to protest Obama, go take a flying you know what at a rolling donut.

UPDATE: Two more soldiers were killed in Iraq today, and after checking the whole front page of nbc news, I guess it wasn't important enough.

Not In The News

In my last post I mentioned Syrians rushing the Israeli border as distraction from the Syrian government massacring it's own people. While that hasn't stopped, (there is new graphic video at Big Peace to prove it) it now seems like the Syrians are just multi-tasking.

Recent intel coming out of Syria says the government is paying farmers who make an average of two hundred dollars a month one thousand dollars to rush the Israeli border. With an extra ten thousand if you are killed in the process, to go to the family. Though seeing what they do to their own people, I wouldn't really expect the govt to pay up. With this new tactic of sending "unarmed" people swarming on the border look for new calls of human rights violations against Israel. Even though if you rush any other country's border (i.e. Mexico, all of Europe, all of the Asia, really the whole world except maybe the U.S.) you will be shot on sight. But this area specifically holds importance.

The Golan Heights, which has been a often fought for chunk of land is currently in the possession of Israel. While Obama would have Israel return Golan to Syria, it is a strategic defense point for Israel. Notice the word heights, Golan is a small mountainous are right at the border. As any strategist will tell you high ground is key to defense. By keeping a close watch from Golan Israel can see any Syrian activity coming and can defend itself properly. If Israel were to give up Golan the Syrians would have easy access to Northern Israel.

The north-east is just another of Israel's problems, when you're surrounded by enemies on all sides you'd better have your head on a swivel.

Let me state clearly, I don't care about Weinergate.

Mitt Romney recently said he believes in "Man-made global warming", and now he is dead to me.

Herman Cain is a better choice anyway, even if the racist at Time Magazine are ignoring him.

Unemployment went up, the stock and housing markets went down, so of course Obama is out saying things are better. I can't even laugh at what an incompetent leader he is.

Does anyone else thing Syria is starting border issues with Israel to take the attention off of them slaughtering their own people?

If the ecoli outbreak in Europe has taught us anything it is eat less vegetables.

Speaking of food, Big Sister Mrs.Obama has dumped the food pyramid for myplate, someone should tell her myspace is old news. I don't know who I dislike more her or her husband.

California was ranked 49 out of 50 for "Most Business Friendly States". No wonder I can't find a job.

I shaved my head and disappointed a lot of people, but summers are hot and I am too broke to afford a barber. My hair will make a comeback in the fall.

Two Men

The geniuses over at Weasel Zippers stuck up the picture below, and I felt it shows exactly the problem we have in America today. With Obama openly admitting to using marijuana and cocaine in is younger life (though no constant jokes and slams flowing out of the media like they did to Bush), it is clear that while not a requirement military service is super important. I am sooooo glad Huckabee isn't running for president. Daniels too.

I am throwing all my support behind Herman Cain, out of the other tawdry choices we have he just seems to shine the brightest.

On an opposite note, the dim bulb we call president ha called for Israel to return to 1967 borders. To show how insulting that is, I equate it to someone (likely another democrat) saying we should return to our 1861 borders (look it up).

My two guilty pleasures right now are The Lonely Island and Epic Meal Time.

On Tuesday my last blog post was about defending Israel, little did I know that just 2 days later The President of the United States would throw his support to the Palestinians and turn his back on our only friend in the middle east. For the first time since the State of Israel was created, the POTUS has abandoned our ally in favor of the muslim terrorist group Hamas. We really should have seen this coming, backing the muslim brotherhood in Egypt should have been a big clue. By telling Israel to drop dead Obama has shown his true colors and as I posted on twitter; the years of exposure in his raising, schooling, churching, community organizing and politics have ingrained Antisemitism into Obama and he can't hide it any longer.

Obama’s demand for Israel to return to its 1967 borders, displaces over 300,000 Israeli citizens from nearly half of the country. What right does Obama (who speaks for us all) have to make 300,000 people of another country homeless? What right does Obama have to involve himself in Israel’s affairs? What right does Obama have to demand an ally give up its own territory won in a defensive war, when it was attacked without provocation, from all sides, by multiple countries? What right does Obama have to give away the land Israel needs to defend themselves from Hamas missiles and terrorist attacks? What if Obama’s interposing leads to the destruction of Israel and the death of millions of innocent Israelis? With friends like this, Israel no longer needs enemies.

Thursday Obama made it clear he hates Israel and doesn’t care what the American people think or want. I am hoping that this will secure him a loss in the 2012 election. I hope Jewish voters will see the light and never again feel the same about Obama or Democrats that support this craziness. Obama’s biggest mistake was crossing religious voters, over 90% of America connects itself to Judeo-Christian values. It is the same Judeo-Christian voters that elect Presidents. And almost 100 million evangelical Christians who love Israel will now vote and donate to Obama’s opponents with a fervor and passion of a patriotic group on a mission to save America and Israel from destruction. And that is exactly where Obama is taking us.

Since President Obama cannot be relied on, we have to speak up as individuals to let Israel know we support them and care about their future. A middle east without Israel will not have peace. Without Jews to pick on the muslims will focus on Christians. When the Christians are gone they will just keep going farther and farther till they get to you, where ever you are. Do you really think a muslim earth is a peaceful one? If you keep throwing your friends under the bus, soon you will be surrounded by enemies.

Many of you know that this time last year I was living in Jerusalem in the Old City a mere two minute walk from the Western Wall or as we call it the Kotel. While I was there I witnessed first hand how the Palestinians act on a daily basis. While some seemed like friendly normal people most of the ones I came in contact with were angry and prone towards violence. The two times I walked through the Arab Quarter of the Old City I had rocks thrown at me by adults and children. I also saw the "Protest", more rock throwing along with tire burning and yelling at police. To disperse the crowds before things got too violent the police used tear gas. I watched the media there filming the "poor protesters" running away from the gas only to either stop running right after they passed the camera or even walk their children into the gas only to come running out in front of the camera.

I mention this because of the new current "Protest" that are taking place in Israel. This new tactic of bombarding the borders with unarmed protesters is just another way of chiseling at Israel's defenses. According to Fox News this is only the beginning, kind of a test run, and we will see more of these in greater numbers in the near future. Sunday's unrest occurred as the Palestinians marked the "nakba," or "catastrophe" this is the (peace partner) term they use to describe their defeat in the war that followed Israel's founding on May 15, 1948 when Israel stomped the armies of surrounding Arab states as well as local Arabs who attacked just hours after the Jewish state was declared.

The Prime Minister of Hamas (the terrorist organization that runs the Palestinian Authority) Haniyeh who claims to want peace with Israel said yesterday that he "prays for an end to Israel" and that Hamas will never acknowledge Israel's right to exist. Of course in the same speech he said they will recognize the name of "The State of Israel" so good luck trying to figure out what that means.

The Obama Administration has been changing our relationships in the middle east. Obama has alienated our only true friend in the middle east by endorsing regime change in Egypt that has given that country over to the Muslim Brotherhood. Condemned Israel for protecting itself and looked the other way as Iran continues to build nuclear weapons and threaten Israel's safety. Now my definition of friend doesn't fit with what Obama is doing there. We need speak out as a people and remind the administration that we have one true friend in the middle east and supporting them should be our primary concern. Not coddling countries run by dictators or terrorist, but standing up to them and telling them that the USA and Israel with stand together to stop the madness by whatever means necessary.

Glenn Beck is planning another big rally, this time in Jerusalem. He wants all faiths to come together and take a stand, not just for Israel but for the world. “I invite you to join me in Israel this summer to stand together and show the world what living a life of faith and honor really means. I invite you to join me in my quest to Restore Courage,” Glenn said. Courage is lacking in society today. We see glimmers here and there, even from Obama who made the call to take out bin Laden, of course it took him three days to make the decision, but he made the right call. We see other instances of courage all over, but it is time that courage becomes a fore-stand not just something we summon as a last resort.

News, Not News

Since the bin Laden killing certain things just haven't been making much news. There are two topics I want to mention specifically and on that is getting some headlines, just not the right kind.

First off is Libya, other than an air strike or two the news hasn't said much of anything going on in our third ~~war~~ kinetic military action. There is no word on how the rebels are doing, what cities they control or don't control and somehow I doubt the occasional strike on Kadoofy's house is the only bombs we're dropping. Last I heard England was talking about sending in ground forces. The running theory in my house is all the rebels are gone, either dead or just went home and the whole ~~war~~ action is us. From what I read the whole rebel force at it's height was only 1200 guys, not quite what most people outside of Libya had in mind.

The second is the split forming between Ahmadinejad and Khamenei in Iran. For years now Khamenei has kept Ahmadinejad around, most thought as a puppet, and now Ahmadinejad wants to be a real boy err chihuahua or whatever he is. This week Ahmadinejad returned to work after a ten day "vacation" which seemed more like a union style strike. A power struggle between Iran’s top leaders could really shake the Islamic Republic to the core, "with no sign that its hardline president can regain the trust of conservative politicians and clerics", analysts say. We've known for a while now the K had some issues with A, it came to a head recently when K decided to let go of some of A's cabinet members. A tried to have them reinstated but K put his foot down and that's what sent A on his "vacation". You can read some more over at Pajamas but I just thought you'd like to know.

The last thing that's bugging me is Obama's re-energized presidency that seems to be just a big campaign tactic. In the last year President Obama was starting to look more like Senator Obama, voting present but not doing a whole lot more. But in the last month since he's announced that he's back on the campaign trail he seems to be awake and alert. Maybe because campaigning is the only thing he's good at. Obama is taking the awesome three point bump his approval rating got after sending bin Laden to hell where he belongs and steam rolling that into immigration reform. Now since he didn't pass this when he had a super majority I figure he was waiting for now, so he can look good to the fastest growing voter bloc, Hispanics. We know that Congress isn't going to pass any kind of reform but that's what Obama wants. He will put an idea, Congress will shoot it down and he will look like the hero and the Republicans will be taking on the villain role as usual. Remember always watch the other hand, Obama is an illusionist and nothing he says can be taken at face value.

By now you have all probably heard that the U.S. military killed Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan. I just wanted to give my 2 cents real quick.

It's being reported that some of the intel (if not all) on OBL's location came from detainees at Gitmo. While I give President Obama credit for giving the order to get OBL if he had closed gitmo like he said "On my first day in office" we wouldn't have got the information.

This has been a long time coming, too long, but as the world takes a sigh of relief we have to remember that OBL was just one of potentially millions of muslims that hate the US and want to see her fall. We have to stay vigilant and keep fighting.

Now I have never been a "Birther", I knew this day would come, I just didn't figure Donald Trump as the cause of it. After all these years and all the media buzz it just seems like Obama would have held on to this for a better moment, I guess he really feels threatened by Trump and that is the bigger bombshell of the day.

Over the years my friends and I have figured that this was a planned red herring, Obama let this go because anyone that talked about where he was born wasn't talking about the damage he is doing to the Country. It also let the media and others label people as crazy "Birthers" and filled countless hours of news babble, again with BS instead of how Obama was driving this our Country into the ground. Think about how many people got sucked under the birther bus might have actually had something poignant to say but fell for Obama's trap. Really you have to give Obama (or the actual guy who came up with this, I'm thinking Rahm) credit for running with this scam.

Now I know the hardcore birther element will probably keep this going till Obama is gone and long after. But for everyone else this is just one more thing out of the way that Obama can't hide behind. He has to go the rest of his term and the new campaign without this cozy little smokescreen hiding what he's actually doing. I'm sure he has other things lined up (or not since Rahm is gone), other ways to try and keep us away from his real agenda.

So here it is if you haven't seen it already. Obama's mother Stanley was "Punished" with a child when she was a teenager, and I bet you Jr. is happy she didn't take the easy way out.

3 Reasons - Trump

I know many of you think Donald Trump is a joke when it comes to presidential nominees, and if the republicans had, or even looked like they were going to put up someone better, I wouldn't be able to write this. I've been very clear that the "front runners" in the republican field cannot beat Obama. The polls prove it, head to head polls between Trump and the potential GOP field, Trump trumps them all. This is not an endorsement, I still believe Herman Cain is best man for the job, though I acknowledge his chances are slim.

So the first thing is not his hair, as much as it's oddly interesting the polls are more. Like I mentioned above, the poll shows the audacious real estate tycoon and reality TV show host posting a whopping nine point lead on his nearest competitor. In the latest recent survey the Donald is running strong in the GOP field, and by strong I mean way out front. Trump brought in a hefty 26% of the vote, followed by Mike Huckabee 17%, Mitt Romney 15%, Newt Gingrich 11%, Sarah Palin 8%, Ron Paul earned 5%, while Michele Bachmann and Tim Pawlenty took 4% each.

Next, I believe that people who are best suited for political offices are those that care about their community and country. They have a deep passion for serving the people's shared interest, and are deeply experienced in public service. They are educated. They are a God fearing. They are vibrant, and brilliant people with incredible ideas and motivation. But since Ronald Reagan is long gone and Zombie Reagan is only in science fiction, we might have to start looking elsewhere. You don't get into public office anymore by being smart, talented, and a bold speaker; you get into public office by being rich, pretty, or popular. Trump has two of the three and that ain't bad.

Last thing is democrats don't like him, Harry Reid said he's not presidential material, that helps in my book. When the ~~main~~ lame stream media goes nutto I know I'm seeing something good. Take the new Atlas Shrugged movie, the msm is really going out of it's way to slam a movie that is being released on 300 screens nation wide. That tell me I want to see it. Trump is everything Obama is not and that is the most important thing.

I was reading an article today about GM recalling 2100 Chevrolet Cruzes due to their steering wheels coming off while people are driving! While it's only a small number of cars, it's a big problem. I thought about what American unions used to produce 30+ years ago and I felt sick, we used to be great. There was a time when American cars were the top of the line and you could drive them forever. It was normal to rack up 2 or even 3 hundred thousand miles, with proper maintenance though sometimes not even that, even mistreated Chevy or Dodge trucks were reliable well after the odometer ticked 200,000.

But as the unions got bigger the quality started to suffer. By the late 70's American cars were a joke and that's how they stayed until the late 90's. The "Big 3" started mounting a comeback, but cafe standards, the push for eco-friendly cars that no one wanted and shoddy work combined with the greedy unions and the greed of the companies themselves started them down a path to a painful crash that sent all of the Big 3 towards bankruptcy. While it is possible (as we saw later) for big companies to survive bankruptcy the Obama administration lumped them in to the "too big to fail" list and offered them tax-payer funded bail outs. 2 of the Big 3 took Obama's money and subsequently went bankrupt anyway. Ford stood their ground and with some major restructuring and very risky gambles came through better than ever. GM and Chrysler were bought up by the Govt and then sold chunks off to foreign companies or just straight given chunks to the unions.

So now the once great American Chrysler Motors is now mostly Italian with the unions hold a chunk and General Motors is now Government Motors, the name wasn't officially changed but we know. That means if you want a American car built by a private American company you have one choice Ford, and Ford is looking good.

When you have Union assembly line employees smoking weed and pounding 22′s on their lunch break, as video evidence proved just recently, is it any wonder those cars are falling apart? Try free market capitalism where terminations occur for sub-par performance and raises are awarded based on above par performance this will produce better cars.

Our country is in the same shape as this Chevy car with the faulty steering wheel. We've now had 2+ years of Obama basically jerking the steering wheel right off, in the process wanting us to drive our cars Flintstone-style. Gas is now 60+% higher since he took office, the debt has sky-rocketed, our standing in the world is diminished, social spending is at an all-time high, true unemployment is something like 25% or more, businesses are suffering due to uncertainty, and we all sit here wondering what’s going to happen next.

Zero leadership, zero original thought, we’re suffering under a left-wing ideologue in Obama and the previous Congress. Let’s face it! the leftists have been simply following all the failed policies of other leftists of the past. We’re left holding the bill and wondering where our country is going other than down the toilet. Kinda feels like holding the steering column tight while hoping somebody can slow down the car before we careen off the ever-approaching cliff.

I still have hope, not Obama's hope, but hope that America can one day return to our roots. Be the country our Founding Fathers wanted us to be. Like we used to be.

We live in a great Country, I know this, you know this ( I hope). Often you hear in the MSM that we are spoiled, or arrogant, or even some kind of imperialist. But it's not that we aren't aware of what's happening in the rest of the world. We chose to be better, I know it's not PC to call ourselves better, but it is simple truth. Our Founding Fathers saw the world and wanted better. They built a free nation on a foundation of God. 235 years later we are the reigning super power (if Obama doesn't break us), we are looking to keep that position for a long time.

We have to be doing something right, to come as far as we did as fast as we did. The greatness of this Country is due to God and us, we represent the best of humanity. Sure we've had some dark moments and we have plenty of nuts, 25% of us think we had a hand in the tragedy of 9/11. The fact that we allow those nuts to have their crazy ideas just shows what a strong will we have. We don't have to root out the crazies, we embrace them. We have God given rights and rights established by men to guarantee our freedoms. The majority of us are good honest people who see the American dream and want to make it our own. Holding ourselves to a higher standard that started with the Ten Commandments and grew into a Constitution that in a few pages summed up our entire way of life.

Now our way of life is being threatened by terrorism, socialism and a few more 'isms. We have seen what evil and jealousy can do and we have to remember what Simon Wiesenthal said "Freedom is not a gift from heaven... You must fight for it everyday." Does this mean we have to take up arms? For some yes, another great thing about us is our military, an all volunteer fighting force that is unmatched across the globe. For the rest of us it means living the way God commands, voting wisely and electing the right people to run our government. Raising our children to observe the same values and take responsibility for their actions.

Again I think about Glenn Beck's 9-12 project and I can't help but think this is our only real hope. It simply best states what we need to do as a Nation to maintain our strength and survive the coming insurrection.

So the news is reporting unemployment at 8.8% which seems good, on the surface. But let's look at the numbers. The current US work force is 138.1 million and the "Official Unemployed" is 13.4 million, but the actual unemployed is 24.1 million. That makes the actual unemployment rate more like 17%. Now I know Obama is loving this "official rate", even though the reason the rate is as "low" as it is, is due to the Bush tax rates that Obama swore he'd repeal and then folded like a french man. We're still 7.3 million jobs lower than when Obama took office.

It looks to me that this was Obama's intention from the beginning. He knew he wouldn't repeal the Bush tax cuts, in his first term, that would have put a guaranteed single term stamp on him. Don't be fooled, like the stock market this is a manufactured bubble and it will burst on command. Due to the impotence of the Republican party, Obama will be reelected and then the real fun will start. The Bush tax cuts go, cap and trade will return and continuing slaughter of American infrastructure will spike unemployment, gas and utility prices, along with food shortages. This will finally bring America to the place Obama thinks it belongs, at the bottom with everyone else. Dinesh D'Souza told us that.

I know most people will say it's loopy to think that Obama wants us to fail, but all the signs point that way. There is hope, real hope not the Obama campaign hope. America is tough and has survived poor leaders before, primarily because of her people. We the People, who with God's help, push through the hard times even when we have no national leadership to speak of. Have Faith and stay strong, call Congress and the Senate, vote and remember We are a shining city on a hill. The Gipper is the best reminder.

3 Reasons - Lybia

With all the "uprisings" going on across the Middle East why are we intervening in Libya? Why not Bahrain or Syria? I can't answer those questions and this post will not be backing the President's action. To the contrary I don't think we should be involved at all anywhere in the recent uprisings short of protecting our ally Israel. I know Obama is no friend to Israel and neither are most Democrats, but the US and Israel are connected and that's the way it should be and that's the way it should stay.

One thing we have to look at in Libya and other places, like Egypt (who already fell) is who these "Rebels" or "Freedom Fighters" or "Youth" that are revolting actually are? Now while these countries seem like Muslim strongholds their leadership was actually quite secular. Yes I know Gadaffy was liked to the Pan Am bomber but the closer we look the more it seems like the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Queda are part of the rebellion in Libya. I've gone into detail on the MB before and despite what the State Department tells you they are not secular, hell their name is Muslim Brotherhood. With all the bitching about how we armed the Taliban and Saddam Hussein why should we take a chance on arming people who will most likely turn our weapons against us next week!

Another thing that really raises a red flag in Libya is the President's complete lack of clarity at why we are there and what our endgame is? Again, lots of bitching took place when Bush went into Iraq and Afghanistan with no exit strategy, so is Obama making the same mistake? Are the Democrats ignoring it because it's Obama? If we set up a "No Fly Zone" to protect innocent Libyans that Gadaffy was killing with air power then why haven't we wiped out his air force and left already? We usually don't get involved in civil wars, we're not getting involved anywhere else. The MSM made a big deal the other day of "rebels" capturing "oil cities", please tell me this is not a ~~war~~ kinetic military action for oil?

Last thing is Gadaffy himself. When this "kinetic military action" started we heard different stories from the White House and the State Dept. and the Military. As much as I want al-Megrahi and Gadaffy to hang for what they did the safety of our ally Israel will be in jeopardy when Egypt goes MB and will be worse if Libya follows.

Every blue moon or so I stop past the NY Times website to see what MSM is talking about. When I stopped by today I found this nice little gem. Now in case you didn't or can't follow the link it's an article about the leading contender to take over power in Egypt. Just an "Islamist Group" we like to call the Muslim Brotherhood. Now I can't say I told ya so, cause many people said it, but so did I so, I told ya so.

Quick recap on who the muslim brotherhood is, other then parent to hamas and al queda. They are long standing America and Israel haters. Need some proof? Jimmy Carter endorses them. Now of course anyone who gets a thumbs up from Jimmy Carter has to be an anti-Semite. But there's also this from JPost where Muhammad Ghannem a leading member of the MB said he want to dissolve the peace with Israel and destroy them. Now call me crazy but these guys running Egypt sound worse than Mubarak.

Then there is the history repeating itself part. What's happening in Egypt is almost exactly what played out in Iran in the late 70's. Now I already covered this in a previous post and am linking that post so I don't have to repeat myself.

The best part is the MB claims they didn't want Egypt to topple, and they are not a revolutionary group. Cause no radical islamic group wants to take over a country with the power and position of Egypt! And since the unrest is still spreading across the Middle East and the attacks on Israel increasing, you don't have to be a psychic to see the future is gonna be mess.

3 Reasons - Guns

In light of recent call for more regulation coming from the Obama Administration, this week's topic is owning a firearm. Guns have played an important part in history, the way we know that guns are tools and not some kin of incarnate evil is more often than not they are used to help preserve our way of life. Even though the media would tell you different it is simple to look back and see the benefit of having this particular tool. To put it more simply; Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

The first reason to own a firearm is the same reason you vote, exercising your rights. The Founding Fathers put together a simple yet highly effective document that lays out our way of life. The Constitution is 8 pages and the Amendments we have made since then might take up 2 more. We cherish the things that we have been given, by God (life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness) and man (everything else). So how could it not be positive to exercise our 2nd right and be prepared for any action. "Amendment II - A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Even though the media has created a negative connotation on the word militia, I believe that we should stick to what works and in their time militias worked. Though I do consider myself to be part of a well regulated group the NRA. I don't think it's a requirement, but if it gives you some peace join up, it's inexpensive and provides both access to training and safety courses and it also provides some insurance in case the unthinkable happens.

Secondly, it's a safety issue. Face it the time where you could go to sleep at night with you front door open to catch a breeze is gone. The safety of you and your family should be one of your primary concerns, waiting 3 to 5 or more minutes for the police to show up is simply not acceptable. I'm not trying to scare you, but the facts are facts. In the year 2006 according to the FBI there was 447,403 robberies in the US, and 14.3% of them were home invasion. So at one robbery a minute, out of 100 minutes 14 of them were home invasion. Take a safety/training class, do your homework, figure out what is right for you and be ready. You don't call the police because they have pens, you call them because they have guns.

3rd reason, recreation; Guns are a great hobby. There's the physics, the skill required, and the opportunity to interact with supersonic objects (that loud bang is a sonic boom). Some people enjoy target shooting or trap shooting, others prefer hunting, and still other prefer collecting guns. Guns tend to hold their value and sometimes even gain value over time. Many people enjoy it all. Regardless of what you've been told by the media, there is a good chance a gun related hobby is right up your alley. I find it to be both exhilarating and relaxing.

Anti-Midas

President Obama has been fairly quiet on gun control since he's been in office, but yesterday he decided to go there; “I know that every time we try to talk about guns, it can reinforce stark divides," He goes on, "However, I believe that if common sense prevails, we can get beyond wedge issues and stale political debates to find a sensible, intelligent way to make the nation a safer, stronger place." Now Obama is a liberal so I knew he wouldn't leave my guns alone, and really all he is saying, right now, is we need to enforce existing gun laws. That I am 100% OK with. But when you read that quote, you can see the little hamster on the wheel in his head running as fast as it can and that is what worries me.

There was a time during his campaign that Obama was like King Midas, everything he touched turned to gold. He seemed to overcome impossible odds to get the top job. But, since he has been president it's been more like anti-Midas, everything he touches turns to garbage. I guess you can also liken him to the king with no clothes, but lets stick to anti-Midas. Stimulus, healthcare, bail-outs, foreign policy and outright socialism, normally I'd be very happy to see a democrat go down in flames, but Obama is somehow still wielding popularity. Looking at 2012 it seems like he is going to win a second term and I can't for the life of me figure out why. This Country is in shambles, we are embracing our enemies, alienating our friends, looking at a double dip recession, gas prices and unemployment are sky high, yet Obama's crown is still firmly atop his head.

Guns are one of the issues Obama had shied away from, probably because it is highly controversial and they have a huge base that cannot be budged. But with Obama going around and wildly doing whatever he wants damned what the people of America think, I worry about a Nazi style gun ban (yeah i said it!). The Second Amendment exist to keep the power with the people and not the government. But Obama's government power grabs have been sweeping and disarming the people will become necessary to maintain the masses. I understand that is a "out there" sounding theory but we have to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

With the very recent tragedy in Japan and the unrest in the middle east, many people have brought up to me the "end times" and "2012". Now I have stated before I do not think Barack Obama is the anti-christ, while he is a huge narcissist he is not going to bring on the apocalypse. But times will be hard, I have said that we will have to tighten our belts to get through, and with the Republicans looking totally impotent for the 2012 elections, the belts will get yanked a few more notches. America will prevail, times were hard after the Depression and we fought through, we will fight through again. As long as we are steadfast in our Faith and stick to the values that our Founding Fathers taught us America will survive and sun will shine again.

What Does It Take?

I think we can all agree that when Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was yelling allu akbar while beheading US journalist Daniel Pearl, that was an act of terrorism. So why when 21year old Arid Uka screams the same words while gunning down American Soldiers in Germany, is it not terrorism?

German Prosecutor Griesbaum told reporters that the suspect (I hate saying that when we know it was him) told German police he went to the airport with the intent to shoot “as revenge for the American mission in Afghanistan.” But the White House refuses to call it terrorism. He had been spending an extended amount of time on radical islamic (terrorist) websites and had expressed his hateful views on facebook. State Department mouthpiece P.J. (muslim brotherhood is secular) Crowley when asked if the murder of two U.S. airmen was a terrorist attack said: "Was the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords a terrorist attack? I mean, you have to look at the evidence and look at the motivation and then you make a judgment." So a mentally deranged psycho who has been stalking a congresswoman and a radical islamic fundamentalist are the same thing? That's insulting to the mentally deranged.

Ultimately this is no surprise, we are talking about the same White House that switched out the words "terrorist attack" for "man made disaster". Obama was supposed to be the one to bring peace to the world, he was supposed change the ill feelings George Bush created. Though somehow with all the changes to our vocabulary, bowing and other playing nice Obama is doing, from the looks of things they hate us more. Again, no surprise, I've always told the liberals that Islam hates them more than conservatives.

Oh and it is also no surprise, how the MSM is glossing over this story like it's just another random act of violence. CBS and NBC both gave brief mentions of the tragedy beyond ten minutes into the nightly broadcast, ABC had a bit more depth in their coverage, but only the first night, by the second night it was gone altogether. I'll be the first to say FOXNEWS isn't as "fair and balanced" as they claim, but when every other station is equivalent to state controlled media... Well let's just say there's a reason foxnews is the highest rated news channel.

The best news to come out of this is that the terrorist would have kept shooting but his gun jammed. Now we already know from the Ft. Hood massacre that one guy committing mass murder in the name of radical islam is not terrorism, so my question is, how many does it take? Now we know 19 men hijacking and crashing planes for the same reason is terrorism, so if the German shooter had a partner would that be enough, or does he need 18 more guys?

History Repeats Itself

In recent weeks the MSM was trying to fool the American people into believing that Barack Obama was somehow like the Great Orator Ronald Reagan, heck Obama even referred to himself as "The Gipper". Now I touched on this in previous posts and I hope you have stopped laughing because I wanted to point out that if Obama really wants to be compared to presidents past we need look no further than Jimmy Carter. Many of the current administrations actions match up with Carter's and like the Simpsons once pointed out "Jimmy carter! He was America's greatest monster!".

The Obama administration is repeating history and making the same mistakes of Carter’s failed energy policies, which marred his term and stigmatized the late 1970s. We are being led straight into another national energy disaster, most likely very few of you remember the waiting in long lines at the gas stations just to find out they were out of fuel.

Also Obama seems to see the crises in the middle east as a reason to shift away from gas and oil entirely and move towards alternative forms of energy. It's almost like there isn't oil anywhere else. Obama's fear of drilling for oil on our own soil compromises our national security and destroys any idea of economic recovery. There's an 800lb gorilla in the room, we are choosing to be reliant on the middle east! We are choosing to send billions of dollars to Arab nations who ultimately want to see us wiped out. We are buying friends at a cost too great and our "friends" still hate us.

The next issue that is happening almost event for event is the likeness between Iran and Egypt. In the 70s Iran was considered an ally, the Shah was a dictator who brutalized his people, but he helped us out and he kept the rabble down so we backed him for decades. Sound familiar? You could stick Mubarak in there and it would fit perfectly. Then the people revolted, they were tired of being brutalized and wanted their freedom, again familiar. But after the Shah was ousted the radical islamic element stepped in with a death grip that they still hold. The people are being brutalized worse than ever and the "freedom" they revolted for seems like a distant dream. Now Mubarak is gone and the interim leaders of Egypt are saying there will be an election. But the most organized of the new political parties is the radical islamist muslim brotherhood.

Wisconsin Chaos

There was a time way, way, way, way back when unions were necessary, but now that we have a vast amount of labor laws and child labor laws the usefulness of unions is less and less clear. I'm watching the nightmare that is going on in Wisconsin and I can say with ease Gov. Walker has economical and moral high ground. You can watch Sean Hannity's interview with the Gov from today here (part one) and here (part two). I had started writing an explanation for my stance but once again someone beat me to it and was more concise than I would have been. I'll let Steven Crowder do his thing.

One other thing I have to mention is the President sticking his nose into Wisconsin's business. Obama slammed Gov. Walker faster then Mubarak in Egypt. He was quick to back his union buddies, and by the way unions give more money in political contributions than big oil and pretty much all to democrats. So if you're in a union and you're not a democrat, you are contributing to them.

A Year Ago Today

On Feb 17, 2010 I left for my trip to Jerusalem, Israel, it doesn't feel like a year has passed. Sometimes the whole thing feels like a dream. I was in the Holy Land for a week shy of four months, which seemed like a long time while I was there, but as soon I got back it felt like I never left. My life fell right back to the way it was before, like I had taken a nap. But I haven't forgotten that time at all, ups or downs. Though I miss it and would like to go back soon.

The day before I left Israel was a different story, I couldn't wait to get home, I was ready to leave and nothing was going to change my mind. Part of that was responsibilities I had in California, but bigger was the fact that I had never been so far away from home for so long. When I landed in Tel Aviv is when it really hit me I was on the other side of the world and didn't know a soul or how to speak the language. Though as I stood in the security line back in Tel Aviv four months later I was proud of myself, I had conquered, I made it through. Even the language came easier to me, I had studied Spanish in high school, but it never stuck. But in just under 3 months I learned how to read and write Hebrew and even how to speak a couple dozen words. To this day I am still working on my Hebrew, I'm hoping that when I go back I will have a lot more conversational ability.

The Western Wall

The one question I've been asked a few times since expressing interest in returning to Israel is why? My friends and family knew about my urgency to leave and wonder what is drawing me back? To that I don't have a great answer, maybe it's all the amazing people I met while I was there, from teachers to people on the street Israelis are wonderful and kind. Maybe it's the Holy part of the Holy Land. There is something to be said about a strong presence of God there, and the history cannot be denied. I mean, I walked on a three thousand year old street and ran my hands along the wall of a tunnel from the time of King David. The only thing I can say for sure is I want to go back.

People With Guns Save People

Notice I didn't say guns save people, because a gun is an inert object that can do nothing by itself. But put them in the hands of people and they can save lives.

Case in point.

For many years handguns were banned in Washington DC, and during those years DC had soaring high murder rates. For some reason even though they were illegal the criminals and murderers didn't stop using them. Maybe the district should have done more advertising, you know a signs on the sides of buses; "Just so everyone knows handguns are illegal". Something tells me that wouldn't have helped. When you make something illegal all you do is take it out of the hand of law abiding citizens, criminals don't give a damn.

The ban was lifted in 2008 and the evil guns flooded into Washington DC, and by the end of 2009 the murder rate in DC was down 25%, the lowest it's been in forty five years! The media would have you believe that tougher law enforcement in conjunction with neighborhood watch programs and stricter penalties are the reason for the drastic fall in the murder rate. But if that's all it took, why didn't DC do it sooner? The proof in in the shootings, or lack there of. An armed society is a safe society. When I was in Jerusalem there were guns everywhere, on the soldiers, police and a good chunk of the public. Guess how many dead bodies were in the street? Not one, you can walk down the street on a dark night and not worry. Even the "Wild West" wasn't so wild, despite what you see in the movies gunfights were a rare occurrence. People have to get the negative stigma of guns out of their heads.

Go to a firing range, take a course, get educated, join the NRA. For your safety and mine go out and buy a gun.

High Speed Really?

When Obama passed his trillion dollar (total & utter failure) stimulus plan two years ago a chunk of it was designated for high speed rail, though I haven't noticed any bullet trains whizzing by and traffic is worse than ever. That chunk amounted to $8 billion that was invested as "seed money" and now Veep Biden has told us the White House is investing another $53 billion of our money in getting this so call high speed rail going. But the more I read up the more clearly I see high speed rail is really just high-jacking our wallets. The Obama Express is moving all right, bringing us straight to bankruptcy hell, let me explain a few things that will help us pull the emergency stop line on this runaway nightmare.

Here in California the big talk has been a high speed line between LA and San Franfreako. The original projected cost of this masterpiece was around $28 billion dollars, but things change and budgets swell, so now the price tag is more like $43 billion. But as time passes the budgets keep changing and swelling, the final cost is looking to be oh $100 billion. Take the number form the above paragraph and add them up... So with all the stimulus money and the newly allocated cash plus the $9 billion in Calif bonds the rail project between LA and SF is $30 billion dollars in the red. That doesn't leave much for the rest of the country.

But high speed rails will reduce traffic and that will help everybody! Or will it? Let's stick with California, the line from LA to SF will alleviate little to no traffic. Not many of you currently stuck on the 101 fwy reading this on your smartphone because traffic hasn't budged in 3 hours are going all the way up to Frisco are ya? Same story country wide, high speed lines are mainly for city to city use and most of the backed up freeways are within city limits. Even light rail lines in LA and NY do little to nothing to ease off the massive number of cars.

The biggest hurdle to making high speed rail a reality is the track. We can't use the existing tracks because freight trains dominate existing tracks and if you've ever had to wait while a mile long freight chugs past, you know they don't move that quick. So new tracks are needed, country wide. Now granted it won't take as long as the original lines that crossed this great Nation, but I bet you it will cost a whole lot more. Not to mention the cost of Air Force One jetting back and forth so the Anointed One can drive a gold spike into every finished product.

If we really want to "Win The Future" we have to stop spending money or as The One puts it "Investing" and start saving. The American people have become the People of NO. No more pouring our hard earned money into a bottomless pit. No more taxing us into oblivion. No more bail outs, no business is too big to fail, even the states. No more socializing of American industries and institutions. We have to rise up, not in revolution, off our couches and into the voting booths. Make all these big spending politicians Democrat or Republican do what we've been trying to do for the last few years, find a real job.

The Big Lie

I've been unemployed over a month now, my seasonal job at K-Mart interrupted a four month stretch since I returned from Israel in June. Many people I know are out of work as well and most of the ones that have a job are working well below their experience level. Though if you've been watching the jobs news lately things really seem to be turning up, or are they?

The drop in unemployment the Obama admin reported for January is a big lie. The numbers have been fudged to make thing rosier than they are. The true, un-fudged data showed an increase from 9.1% to 9.8% in joblessness rather than a cut in the highly fudged figure from 9.4% to 9.0%. And, of course, Obama “achieved” the drop in the unemployment rate not by reducing the number of jobless but by cutting the the total workforce. Half a million Americans have given up on ever getting a job and left the workforce, bringing the jobless rate down.

The US workforce is roughly 138.4 million and the official number of unemployed is 13.8 million. Easy math there shows a very clear 10%. The administration numbers don't even match up to the official record. But the cold hard truth is the actual number of unemployed is 24.6 million, which puts our actual unemployment rate at just under 20%. And don't forget 44.1 million people in the US are on food stamps. I think it's time the Obama admin starts leveling with us, though then they would have to admit that their so called "Stimulus" was a complete and utter failure.

The continuing job killing policies of the Obama admin will keep us out of work for at least 2 more years till we know if Obama will win a second term. But even if Republicans do take the White House (and those chances look slim at best) it will take at least a year before noticeable recovery really gets rolling. That puts the best hope for recovery at 3 years, which means the belt tightening will continue and with food prices skyrocketing you're probably going to have to make some new notches in your belt.

I have always been very clear that Ronald Reagan is a hero of mine, I admire his whole life, not just the political years. There were ups and downs, trials and tribulations and for a while he was even a Democrat! But it's the flaws that make him more admirable. Whether it was getting caught up in the glitz and glam of Hollywood, realizing his first wife was not his soul mate or changing political affiliation when the party left him. Reagan always bettered himself and never asked for someone else to take care of him. Especially the government, he saw that a massive and overreaching govt would lead us on a path like the Soviet Union and like the Soviet Union to destruction. When I had a myspace page, one of the questions it asked and displayed was "Who is your hero?". My answer; "All my heroes are cowboys" referring to John Wayne and Ronald Reagan. Two men who led amazing lives, who stood up for and loved America.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. PRESIDENT... We miss you now more than ever.

Kill Switch

After getting some feedback on this topics on my social networks I figured I would expand on it here.

In the first days of the "protest" in Egypt, President Mubarak decided to shut down the internet. He said it was for the good and safety of the people, but suppressing the voice of the people is not a good thing and it only caused more problems and inflamed the uprising. The next day both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama condemned Mubarak for the action and talked about the freedom of the people. The following days were more of the same, Obama saying that freedom of speech and assembly are God given rights, of course any actual American knows that the God given rights are Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness. But Obama's ignorance aside, he was saying it was a breech of freedoms to shut down the internet.

Jump to here, the United States of America, where we do have a First Amendment to protect us. The White House is and has been for several months now been trying to secure an internet kill switch for Obama. This started last year before the Congress was retaken by Republicans, it failed in congress but it now is being reborn in the still Democrat controlled Senate. Now it is being said that the US govt controlling the internet is for our safety and national security. Though that kinda sounds like the dictator in Egypt. Now I know when I call Obama a socialist or communist I get all sorts of jeers and boos, but Net Neutrality and other forms of Govt control of the internet just reeks of Socialism. This is not the first time Obama talked out of both sides of his mouth and I guarantee it won't be the last.

What's The Difference?

Two years ago there was a "Green Revolution" in Iran. People took to the streets after Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won the presidential election by a obviously rigged landslide. The protesters shouted and used sites like Twitter to get their voices out to the world. Here in America we watched the blood flow on the streets of Iran as the govt. put down the uprising. We watched as an innocent young girl named Neda (video is VERY GRAPHIC) die on the street, along with countless others. Obama tossed out a "We don't condone violence" line but otherwise did nothing to help the Iranian people get out from under the oppressive regime. The radical islamist stay firmly seated in Iran today and are probably less than 2 years from building a nuclear weapon. They continue to terrorize our ally Israel through their bastard offshoot Hamas and threaten to take Israel off the map.

Jump to this week in Cairo Egypt, radical islamist group the muslim brotherhood, creators of Al Qeada and Hamas, started a "revolution". Riots have broken out in the streets and the people are burning govt buildings and demanding that President Mubarak step down. Secretary of State Clinton was the first to speak out against the Egyptian Govt and now President Obama has come out and has threatened the Egyptian Govt to let the people have what they want. Specifically saying "Surely, there will be difficult days to come, but the United States will continue to stand up for the rights of the Egyptian people and work with their government in pursuit of a future that is more just, more free and more hopeful". Obama seems to want our biggest ally in the Middle East to fail. Even though it is very clear that Egypt will be overtaken by islamic radicals exactly like the ones in Iran

So I pose the question to you; What's the difference?

How Much Is Enough?

Two years ago Obama and Congress passed a trillion dollar stimulus bill. The President told us it would fix the jobs market and go towards our infrastructure, education and even those high speed trains he seems to love so much. Now if that sounds familiar it's because he said essentially the same thing last night.The buzzword of the night was "Invest", anyplace you would normally use the word spend it was replaced with invest. Invest sounds smarter and is easier to force down our throats, and force they will. Just like the stimulus two years ago. The catch is we already spent that trillion dollars, so where did the money go if our infrastructure is still at a grade of "D' and there are no jobs, education is in the tank and I haven't seen any trains whizzing by at 200mph?

The answer is worse than the question, a good chunk of the stimulus money is sitting unspent waiting for designated times it is to be released. The rest is just gone, poof, five hundred billion dollars just got sucked into the bottomless pit that is our government. Two years later nothing has been done, but the money is either gone or allocated to go. How much is enough? Does the President need another trillion, two, three? In 2000 when G.W. Bush took office our National Debt was $5.7 trillion, eight years later it was up to $9.3 trillion. Since then we have upped the debt to $14.07 trillion. Do the math people, Obama has added as much debt in 2 years as Bush did in 8, and Obama is nowhere close to done, we are looking at 3 more trillion before Obama's first term is finished. If we stay at this rate by 2015 we are looking at a $22 trillion dollar debt! How much is enough?

Now I don't have much for answers for you. I am no economist or politician, I do know that last night Obama talked about expanding the government. Ronald Reagan said "Government is not the answer to our problem, government is our problem", from that we know that letting the government expand is the last thing we want to happen. Right Network has a video called "Flunked" that shows dumping more money into our schools does not help the problems with education, so we can take that off Obama's list. No one is interested in high speed rails, not to mention the cost to lay new tracks across the country would be staggering, so that is off the list. Wind and solar energy combined make up less than one percent of our power grid, wood makes up 2% just so you know, and while I want to get away from foreign oil we have plenty here and don't need to ration, check 3 off the list. Obama spoke about the government getting into bio-medicines, thanks to govt regulations it takes a dozen years and 300 billion dollars to get a new drug on the market, having that run DMV or post office style, well yeah...

I think is it time we all stood up in one voice and said NO MORE!

SOTU ~ The Game!

Tomorrow President Obama will give his second State Of The Union address. With his approval rating back over fifty percent he seems to be enjoying riding the wave of turnaround since the Republicans retook the House last year. Four years of Congress run amok, two of those with Obama in charge was devastating to our economy, just the idea that by having the Congress flip back to the right would slow down the socialist train we have been on was enough to hear the collective sigh of relief that swept across the country. The SOTU will be Obama's 2012 campaign kick off speech more then anything else. He will tell us all the great things he has been doing over the last year and his great plans for the next. You're likely to hear a lot on jobs saved and created, even though unemployment is still through the roof. You'll hear about how great the economy is doing, even though food prices are skyrocketing and the housing market is completely flat.

For anyone with any common sense the SOTU will be like getting punched in the gut. Though I say while the TOTUS spouts his socialist rhetoric you might pass the time by playing along with my SOTU Drinking game! Anytime our dear leader says ~Unity~ ~Le Me Be Clear~ or ~Deficit~ take a drink. Playing along will turn this bitter pill into a night of laughter and fun!

UPDATE- If you really want to get hammered (though it could be dangerous, so I am not suggesting it) add the word ~Invest~ to the game, from what I hear that could kill ya!

Experience China

During the press conference with Presidents Obama and Hu yesterday I was bouncing around the different new channels, I stopped on CNN, because I hate MSNBC and FOXNEWS was on commercial. When the two leaders came out and gave their speeches it was exactly what I expected. Obama's lips planted on Hu's backside. "We welcome China's rise," says Obama "I absolutely believe that China's peaceful rise is good for the world, and it's good for America." Yep that's the leader of the free world handing it over to the leader of the un-free. Need some proof? The winner of the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize is Liu Xiaobo, who is currently imprisoned in China, you'd think the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner Barack Obama would have something to say about that. (BTW I still don't know what Obama won the prize for, do you?)

Now immediately after the press conference CNN cut to a commercial break, the first commercial was one of these "Get out of debt now" commercials talking about hard times. The second was "Experience China", showing how great China is. From the gracious people to their amazing super models and even their cutting edge space program. I tried finding the video to show you, but it's not online. Though I did find something interesting at cnn.com, the "Experience China" advertisement is all over their homepage. If you click on it, you are taken to the ChiCom official page http://www.china.org.cn/. It's kind of creepy, CNN has really fulfilled their knick name we've always joked about, Communist News Network. The Onion did a spoof like this a couple years ago, unfortunately I couldn't find it. Check it out, maybe I am over reaching here, but it seems odd to me that as the POTUS bows to the Chinese and so does CNN.

This commercial is becoming a very scary possibility!

This Is What It's Like When Stars Collide

There are twenty different award shows on TV nowadays, and I don't watch any of them. But I should of tuned in for this one. Comedian Ricky Gervais was hosting and did something spectacular, he was honest about hollywood. The catch was for poor Ricky is the audience was full of hollywood types. Watch the video posted below and you can see some of the stars took it lightly and laughed, others looked downright uncomfortable.

I don't know what Ricky's politics are, but he definitely made some enemies on the left. The gay jokes alone will have him shamed in public. The Golden Globes is saying Ricky won't be invited back next year, and the media is slamming him foe being "crude" or "mean". Of course if he said horrible things about Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck he would have been invited on the View. Now some conservatives are coming to stand up for Ricky. Personally I liked most of what he said, though I wouldn't call him my new favorite person.

I love a good celebrity roast, I guess if Ricky called it as roast everyone would have loved it. Call this more proof that the left can dish it, but can't take it. What happened to the tolerance? The left preaches tolerance and then drops the fairness doctrine, which if you know anything about it is nowhere close to fair. Yes, this post is a little shallow, but I thought it was semi-important to point out leftist hippocracy, and yes I know that's an oxymoron.

So I'd just like to mention with a recent snowfall in Hawaii, we now have snow in 49 of 50 states. Florida being the lone holdout. Now that I'm thinking about it, where is Al Gore? Where is the rising sea levels? Where is the Global Warming? I though it wasn't going to snow in England anymore? Don't give me this "Climate Change" nonsense either, the weather is doing exactly what the non-eco-nuts said it would. Did all the smug morons driving Prius' save us or what?

The number one selling car in America is a truck, the Ford F-150 to be specific, matter of fact the Prius isn't even in the top 15 no hybrid is. The green weenies are being placated with a couple of electric cars, but there's no planet saving there. We are a coal/oil powered nation, feel as smug as you like plugging your car into the wall, and know oil is burning to charge it. There is a car on the market that gets an awesome 52 mpg, but it's a VW and it's diesel!

I've always know global warming was a scam, and I have always said as much. Bernie Madoff is a minnow in a puddle compared to the planetary ponzi scheme that we call "The Greenhouse Effect" or is it the hole in the "O-zone Layer" or "Global Warming" or "Climate Change"? What ever you call it, I call it a giant and very expensive pile of BULL SH....

P.S. - If you are still worried about global warming, I am starting a Carbon Credit Company, you can send me money and I will throw an acorn on the ground for every $ you send ;)

Time To Stop

You may have heard talk lately about the "US Debt Ceiling". Just in case you don't know; the Second Liberty Bond Act of 1917 established a statutory limit on federal debt. Congress had previously approved each debt issuance separately. The debt limit provided the U.S. Treasury with more leeway in the administration of debt, allowing for modern management techniques in government finance. The Treasury has been granted authority by Congress to issue such debt as was needed to fund government operations as long as the total debt (excepting some small special classes) does not exceed a stated ceiling. Currently we are it $14.015 trillion and rising one million dollars every twenty three seconds or so. The ceiling is $14.294 trillion, so as you can tell we are coming up on it fast, you can watch here, it's quite depressing. Congress has raised the ceiling every time we have come to it, matter of fact we have more than doubled the ceiling in the last ten years.

Now we have never actually hit the ceiling, thanks to the steady raising's, but it is my opinion that it is time to stop. No one knows what exactly will happen when the time comes (sometime in march btw) but it probably won't be good. So yeah I hear you asking "Then why not just raise it again, if not won't be 'good'?" Short answer is we can't afford it. Even if the consequences are severe, and they probably will be, our children's children will already be saddled with our debt at this rate. Sure we could push off the impending punishment, but do our kids deserve it? Personally I might say yes, but I have no kids of my own and all and all don't like kids. But it's the big picture I am talking about here.

We made this mess, with Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest... I mean Clinton, Bush and Obama, who we elected, the fault lies with us and we need to take responsibility for it. Yes it will suck (technical term) but this is what I have been saying for a long time now. Tightening the belts and taking responsibility. Times will be tough and things will get lean (most of us could use to lose a few lbs. anyway), but if we stand together and trust the system that our Founding Fathers built on that foundation of God given rights, we will pull through and be stronger for it.

So it's 2011, and for the last couple days everything I've said was preceded or followed by the words "Happy New Year". But the more you think about it, the more it seems 2011 is not gonna be such a happy year. From the White House down it's going to be a tough year.

With the GOP in control in congress, I'm hoping for gridlock. I was always OK with the "Party of No" title, stopping Obama's socialist takeover will be paved with Republicans saying NO! Notice I said "hoping", I have no faith in the Republican party, they will fold at the drop of a pin and burn their constituency. Loyalty means nothing to the GOP hierarchy, mostly because we have nowhere else to go. They probably laugh about it behind closed doors.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't want to see people unhappy, but I don't see unemployment going down anytime soon and taxes are going up (in Cali for sure), oil is up, if Obama raises the minimum wage inflation will go up as well. Grocery store prices are already high, I spent fifty dollars the other day and got almost nothing. Last post I believe I spoke about tightening belts and we are going to have no choice in 2011. With all that, I still want to see people happy, but we are not going to find it in government or hollywood. Go to Church, Temple or wherever you go for solace and keep your friends and family close. You have to do it for yourself, cause no one is gonna do it for you.

New Year, New Challenge!

We all have people who inspire us, I was inspired when I was young by President Reagan, I was at school watching when the Challenger exploded and later saw this speech;

In these few minutes I saw sorrow, but I also saw strength. Never have I seen these in Barack Obama, his eyes are dead, they are expressionless and empty. He doesn't seem to care about anything except his own advancement and power. The biggest difference is, I believe Reagan had my best interest in mind at all times. Obama shows no interest in me, and by me I mean the average American. I don't mean to be disrespectful but, I don't respect Barack Obama beyond the position he holds. Yeah you see what I did there, kinda like this;
Ahh double speak.

The Bible, (a book I am sure Reagan kept close to him at all times and Obama only grabs for a photo op) in Ecclesiastes 3 talks about "A Time for Everything

For the last four years we have been tearing down, and now in the coming new year it is time to build again. But we need to build on a strong foundation. We need to look back to the Founding Fathers and re-take their lead. We need to remember the words of another great President, the First one George Washington; "For myself (and I take no merit in giving the assurance, being induced to it from principles of gratitude, veracity, and justice), a grateful sense of the confidence you have ever placed in me, a recollection of the cheerful assistance and prompt obedience I have experienced from you, under every vicissitude of fortune, and the sincere affection I feel for an army I have so long had the honor to command will oblige me to declare, in this public and solemn manner, that, in the attainment of complete justice for all your toils and dangers, and in the gratification of every wish, so far as may be done consistently with the great duty I owe my country and those powers we are bound to respect, you may freely command my services to the utmost of my abilities." He was a man truly devoted to our Great Nation and it showed like Reagan in every word he spoke.

Talk to God, your family, friends and neighbors, figure out what you are supposed to be doing, who you are supposed to be and make that your goal for the coming year. Not a resolution, but a first step on the road back to the shining city that America once was and can become again;

Another Year Gone By...

Yeah I know I have been disregarding my blogging duties, but the new year brings new life to The Expert's Blog. Twenty ten was was an ill fitting cap to a turbulent decade. This time last decade we were worried about the millennium bug, Ten years later and we wish it was something so trivial. We started 2001 upbeat and refreshed, but we're quickly reminded of the insanity of the world on 9-11. To call the following years a roller coaster would be an understatement. We all wish it could be 9-10-2001 again, but the illusion is gone and dare I say we are in for a tougher decade.

The sharp turn toward socialism in America brought on by the Pelosi/Obama agendas will not fade into the night. We will have to fight to regain every inch of ground lost to the last four years of democrat change, yes four, Bush's last two years gave new meaning to the term "lame duck". Bush lost all will to fight the coming wave of liberalism and folded in every way. Giving up on social security reform, winning the two wars we were deep into and forcing banks, businesses and people to take responsibility for their actions by way of bail-outs and stimulus packages. Obama, who promised change followed with more of the same, ignoring social security, essentially throwing in the towel on Iraq and doing the least possible in Afghanistan, and of course issuing more stimuli and bail-outs. The out of control spending has dug us into a hole our grandchildren's grandchildren will be stuck with the bill for. See for yourself!

All hope is not lost, we can still recover from this mess and come out a better people. But it is going to be hard, there will have to be sacrifices from everyone. Take my state California, we are going to have to go bankrupt. California is not to big to fail, taking a federal bail-out will only prolong the problems. Times will be tough, but the re-organizing that bankruptcy allows is exactly what California needs. Schwarzenegger talked big and I was one of the many who fell for his tall talk on Gray Davis and ending the spending. But instead of terminating, Arnold went on a spending spree, taxing and spending California into oblivion, and that's where we are. Unfortunately this is not the bottom, things will have to get tougher before they get better and California will be ground zero for the coming strife.

It doesn't matter which way we go, left or right, we are gonna have to tighten our belts. The difference is whether we let socialism squeeze us down to nothing or after a time of hardship we reemerge stronger and smarter. We need only to look at history to see our future. We are following the same path as ancient Rome and if we don't change course we will suffer the same fate. Do some homework, read up on Rome, particularly Cicero

He is consider one of the greatest orators of his time and he warned Rome of it's impending doom and was ignored. I am no Cicero, I don't claim that kind of ability or talent, but I can see the correlation between us and Rome and don't want to end up another failed nation doomed to see it's glory forgotten by history.

Forget about 9/10, we will never be able to get that back, remember 9/12, it's our only chance. Glenn Beck put these in his "Common Sense" book and I just keep thinking they are the right way to go.

While I was in Israel I read Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead, a whopper at seven hundred and fifty two pages and in small print as well, it's no quick read. Ayn Rand is an amazing author and it shows, born Alisa Zinov'yevna Rosenbaum; February second, nineteen hundred and five, she was a Russian-American novelist, philosopher, playwright, and screenwriter. Born and educated in Russia, Rand immigrated legally to the United States in nineteen twenty six. She was a screenwriter in Hollywood, had a play produced on Broadway in thirty five and six, but She first achieved fame in forty three with her novel The Fountainhead, then in fifty seven was followed by her best-selling work, the philosophical novel Atlas Shrugged.

I would also call The Fountainhead a philosophical novel, it has a lot in common with Atlas Shrugged on a philosophical level, though the stories are very different. Fountainhead's story is based in architecture, courtrooms and the media. Howard Rourke is the lead with several other characters rounding off an exquisite cast. Thought compelling sells the description short, as the story throws twist and turns, left and right. Mix in romance as well, heroes, villians this book really has it all. The best description comes from the official Rand website: The story of an innovator—architect Howard Roark—and his battle against the tradition-worshipping establishment. Its theme: “individualism versus collectivism, not in politics, but in man’s soul; the psychological motivations and the basic premises that produce the character of an individualist or a collectivist.” Ayn Rand presented here for the first time her projection of the ideal man. Roark’s independence, self-esteem, and integrity have inspired millions of readers for more than half a century. I am officially an Ayn Rand Fan and will be studying her works in depth.

New Phone, New Fun, New Trouble

So I got a new cell phone last week that is internet capable and I think ultimately that will prove bad for me, in a couple ways. Yes it's a blackberry and now I know why they are affectionately (or not) called "crackberries". Having this much power at your fingertips is a bad, bad thing.

Yesterday I was on my lunch at work and was watching old episodes of "Beavis and Butthead" on youtube. Now any fan would know that B&B are hilarious and I am a fan. Of course B&B would pale in comparison to the disturbing animated shows on TV today, but in their time B&B were pushing the limits of what was acceptable, even on basic cable. The show was blamed for kids burning down their houses and many other lame examples of bad parenting and even more lame govt uptights. "Family Guy" which is on network tv, would make B&B blush and has drawn criticism from an array of groups, mostly the same bad parents and govt types. Back to my lunch story; halfway through the third episode I realized that my lunch was over and I was in the three minute grace period K-Mart gives us to clock back in. Bad me.

The other thing is Twitter; before when I got my tweets all I could do is read the headline and try to remember to follow the link later in the day. Now I have all the news when I want it and I read a lot on news and most of the time it just makes ma angry. Take (muslim) state rep Keith Ellison (D-Minn) saying “I think that we need to create a real crisis here so that the Republicans will have to answer for denying Americans unemployment benefits on the eve of the Christmas holiday,” Ellison said. “We let them off the hook, in my opinion.” Anyone have any idea on WTF he's talking about? You can see how this would be upsetting to read in the middle of a beautiful day here in California.

One thing I have to point out is a design flaw in the Blackberry, In order to type a number within a text or email you have to hit the "alt" key before each number. How hard would it be to stick an alt lock on there, I mean this is a minor problem, but coming from an old Motorola phone that had an alt lock to this brand new top of the line BBY that doesn't is just plain weird.

UPDATE: A friend told me the trick to the alt lock (alt then shift), thanx Shane!

A Change in Climate

A few years ago I vowed that in five years "global warming" would be a thing of the past, and I am on track to be proved correct. Even now at the UN climate summit in Cancun Mexico (cool and rainy btw), the once great delegation is reduced to suggestions and making no actual decisions. The cost of this monster hoax has got to be in the hundreds of billions and now thank God it looks like it may be fizzling out.

This week Republican Speaker-elect John Boehner (OH) has said he will be dismantling Nancy Pelosi's pet project the "Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming". While the UN climate summit says 2010 will be the second warmest year on record, the actual numbers seem to say different. The planet has been cooling since 1998 and in the last year we have seen some good evidence to back that up like the first snow in Baghdad and China reporting it's coldest winter in one hundred years. In fact all four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA's GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data. All show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously, no anecdotal evidence needed. The drop has been so precipitous it has wiped out the last hundred years of warming. The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C a staggering drop with makes me wonder if Time magazine needs to bring back it's ice age cover from the seventies.

Even the mighty AlGore is scaling back his "Alliance for Climate Protection" which once held offices in twenty five states is down to seven. Of course they are calling it "a mobile and nimble operation... moving to areas where it’s most effective." That has got to be tough for Algore who in 2008 launched a three hundred million dollar advertising campaign to help pass climate legislation on Capitol Hill. Thanks to the new Congress he can kiss that money goodbye.

One day we will know the full extent of the damage "global warming" has really done... to our wallets. Think back to the early nineties when all this babbling started with the "hole in the o-zone layer" to the evil "chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's)", changing all our Styrofoam, aerosol cans and now light bulbs just to find out it was all a big political power and money grab. I only regret that it took over twenty years for us to come to our senses.

2 Things That Are Bugging Me

I'll try to keep this short but no promises. I'm not even sure I will keep it to two things. There is so much in the news today that just really bugs me. Surprisingly enough it's not wikileaks, or the FCC trying to pass net neutrality with out congress or even Obamacare failing before it even starts. GM and taxcuts are the big two bugging me right this moment.

Let's start with the tax thing. Back during the Bush Administration the taxes were lowered and democrats add the deadline as a stipulation for letting the cuts happen in the first place. Jump to today, most of the MSM are touting the "Why do the rich need a tax cut" line. Let's be very clear about this, there are no tax cuts! We are looking at the largest tax increase in American history. Though I have recent;y seen some liberal attacks talking about how the Republicans want to raise your taxes, which is laughable at best. Raising taxes right now would be the worst move for the economy, especially for the "evil rich". While labeling George Soros as evil might fit, most of the so called "rich" are small business owners who currently employ around sixty five percent of the county. Raising their taxes would stall any chance of recovery to the job market and the economy would be doomed to stay in the hole for God knows how long. Though the talking heads in the MSM would want you to believe that at least the unemployment would spur the economy Rush does a good job at squashing that stupidity. Call the House (202)225-3121 and the Senate (202)224-3121 and let your representatives know tax increases are wrong at any level.

The GM fiasco is the other thing really just killing me. I touched on this in a previous post but it deserves a seconfd look, especially since GM is spending money (our money btw) on commercials thanking us for bailing them out.

This is a moment I am glad I have a middle finger. Let me run this out, our money was taken from us without our permission and given to GM in the form of a bailout. GM promptly went bankrupt and we (again without consent) purchased the lion's share of GM's stock, the remainder was given to the UAW as a payoff. Now GM's stock goes on sale and the UAW stands to make a killing. The American tax payer on the other hand is looking at at least a ten billion dollar loss. Not to mention we are selling stock we already own to ourselves. Think about it; We (tax payers) purchased GM, now GM stock is on sale to the public (Us). So we are paying for something we already own. Worse than that the money isn't even going back in our pockets. It's going to the Federal Govt who got us into this mess in the first place. Show me the FORD, we should make a commercial thanking Ford for not taking a bailout.

I'm Back

Sorry about that little stretch of quiet, I recently started a new job and have been swamped. The holidays are a busy time at K-Mart, yep I'm working at K-Mart. I can't get into details on K-Mart, there is actually a no social networking clause in my job description. Big K aside, I have been following the news and wanted to comment briefly on some of the big and not so big stories.

First off Korea; North Korea attacked a small island belonging to S. Korea disrupting some war games. The MSM is hyping this into another war. Officially the Korean War was never ended so it would be a re-escalation, but beyond that, this is nothing new. The last power shift in NK between Kim Il-Sung and current despot Kim Jong-Il there was the same show of power type deal. Now Kim Jong-Il is passing the dictatorial torch to his son Kim Jong-Un so it is no surprise NK is acting up. They probably want what they aways want when they do something stupid, more food and money from the US. Which we always give.

The Wikileaks classified document dump is another thing in the news big right now. Again we are not learning anything we didn't already know. Iran was funneling weapons to Hezbollah during the recent spat with Israel, duh! Does something need to be done about this? Yes, of course but is it being blow out of proportion probably to cover another story? I think so.

That story would be the "lame duck" congress going back to their failed agenda. Yes Nancy Pelosi is still in charge and right now as I type House Bill S510 (food safety) is being debated and goes for vote tomorrow. This is another power grab by the federal govt. via the FDA. I feel like American food is pretty safe and letting the FDA run wild with regulations and taxes is just going to hurt us where it counts most, our wallets. But there's more, a week after massive protest in California over the rising cost of universities, the "dream act" is getting the big push from democrats and RINO republicans. This will allow deportable illegal aliens to attend college at a highly subsidized rate, the cost of this of course falls on us the US taxpayer. The list could go on, but I promised brevity.

In Defense of Michael Vick

I don't get this whole " should we forgive Vick" question, if he killed your personal dog it then your forgiving him is between you and God. I saw a damaged soul get busted and serve his time. While prison won't change his soul, he is clean in the eyes of the law. If he has had some kind of God finding moment in his life then I am inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt and even clear away the damaged part.

This is America, our place is not to keep grudges, but to believe in God's ability to make us better. There is a reason "In God We Trust" is on our money and our govt buildings, and it's not for God's sake, but ours. Call it a reminder, for our govt to remember it's founding and the reason the United States is the strongest, richest, and the most merciful, charitable country in history, usually those don't go together. The money is a reminder to us the people that God gave us our freedom and will continue to do so as long as remember that. Ultimately this is bigger than Michael Vick, but it applies.

By the way I am neither a Vick fan or an Eagles fan, but who are we to sit in judgement?

Seeing RED

Saw the movie "RED" yesterday, Bruce Willis topped an all star cast including John Malkovich and Helen Mirren. I guess you could describe "RED" as a AARP version of "Expendables", in a good way. The premise was a group of retired CIA operatives who are brought back into the spy game when they are put on a list to be terminated. I'm not gonna give away anymore, you should go see this movie, it was action packed, loads of fun and while the violence was extreme the language was pretty clean (one f-bomb) and no sex or nudity. Safe for your teens, but I'd leave the little ones home.

But this is not a movie review, it's politics people. Back a few post I mentioned how hollywood has been trying to force feminized heroes on us (Scott Pilgrim and the like), "RED" was just more proof that we don't want girly heroes. Bruno is getting close to sixty and he is our go to tough guy. I like "Live Free Die Hard" but the thought that Bruce is signed to do two more is disturbing. Is there really not a MAN under 40 that can be an action star (sorry Michael Cera doesn't count)? We have some prospects, Chris Pine (the new Kirk from "Star Trek") is taking on the role of Jack Ryan handed down from another aging action anchor Harrison Ford.

The feminist movement has destroyed chivalry and ruined true feminism. Not to mention at least two generations of boys. Boys who were drugged by schools when they showed signs of being boys. Dodge ball was deemed unsafe and tag-you're it was halted cause no one should be put on the spot and be called "it". God forbid a boy want a toy gun, what happened to GI Joe? Who is going defend this country if we turn all our boys to girls? Masculine responsibility for the civilization’s survival is replaced by womanish dreams maneuvering for trouble to be wished away. Such peoples no longer know how to defend themselves. They instead argue themselves to impotence.

QE2 Is No Boat, But It Is Costing Us A Boatload!

TSA: Naked Scan Or Else!

A while back I posted on the naked scanners in "Say Cheese", they were new on the scene and people weren't happy. Some are claiming health issues and now some airports are screaming "opt out" if you choose not to be scanned and putting people though demeaning, sometimes painful "pat downs" that include squeezing or twisting genitalia.

Pilots who have to go through the scanners multiple times a day for some are saying that the repeated exposure to the radiation could create health issues. Just like getting multiple x-rays. Still others say that the bombardment or radiation can damage your DNA and cause serious problems.

The "Opt Out" seems to be discouraged by demeaning treatment and intrusive pat downs. One story (audio) comes from a woman that had been through the opt out wringer before and just wanted to ask some question when she was swarmed by over a dozen police and TSA employees.

The TSA's blog http://blog.tsa.gov/ has the official information and claims that no improper touching or groping is going on. Though the stories countering that are too numerous to post, here's a couple. From forcing a four year old girl out of her leg braces to a pregnant woman and her eight year old daughter being fondled.

I haven't come across any of these issues with the TSA, El Al is a different story. Their "secondary" screening in Zurich was hands on, but I had heard about El Al before my flight and had a pretty good idea of what I was in for. The thing that worried me most was my laptop, let me suggest a security friendly case. I will have one of these the next time I fly.

He's Bowing Again

In the past two years Obama has bowed to every dictator and other foreign dignitary he can find. I posted on it no too long ago. Well he's at it again. Bowing to the Indian Parliament, I guess that's what MSNBC meant by "Lean Forward".

When Obama was campaigning he spoke of America not being liked by the world and how he was going to fix that. Then came the apology tour that I posted about some months back. The bowing is more upsetting then anything else. He is the President of the United States, he bow to anyone! Not bowing is the reason we became an independent country in the first place, no more would we bow to the oppression of the British Crown, but Obama managed it in 2009.

I won't go as far as saying Obama committed treason, though I have seen some sites that do say that. I will say he needs to stop, Obama did say that America doesn't always have to be number one, but he doesn't get to choose that, he works for us. Every move he makes should be to strengthen us, to keep us on top and to make sure that America never bows to any man.

New Superman's Not Super Or A Man

DC Comics is producing a storyline for the seventy two year old hero called "Earth One". But this is not the Superman you grew up with, this superman is a emo, hooded sweatshirt wearing boy with disheveled hair and a brooding look complete with glowing eyes. It's being said he's the superman for "Twilight" fans. Brought to us by artist Shane Davis and writer J. Michael Straczynski

The stories Straczynski says, were never intended to become stagnant. "They are interpreted and reinterpreted for every generation. I guess DC wanted more young girls reading Superman, next you'll see him sparkling in moonlight or something. Let me be clear, this is only one storyline, stuck in one hardback graphic novel. The cape wearing "Superman" is till out there in other story lines.

"We wanted to tell a story that's hip, sexy and moody," said DC Comics' co-publisher Dan DiDio. Of course sexier means less imposing. He's shorter, skinnier and obviously less muscular. Basically taking all his manliness away. This superman identifies with America because he was raised here, but he doesn't stand for the "American Way" that would give an unfair advantage that could lead to war! The low-rise, skinny jean wearing "hero" is more of a worldly type. In a world were Michael Cera's "Scott Pilgrim" is some kind of nerd hero, I guess this version of superman fits right in. But think about movies that won big in the last year or so, "Gran Torino" saw Clint Eastwood even in his golden years acting the tough guy role. Not to mention the actionfest that is Sylvester Stallone's "Expendables", it seems America wants more from it's heroes not less.

The Day After Tomorrow

Yeah I know this is hitting late, I am very good at procrastinating...

The midterms have passed, the outcome was favorable, mostly. I watched the coverage all day, not to mention twitter which kept my phone beeping for hours. I split my time time between the three major news outlets Foxnews, CNN and MSNBC. I am not a fan of the latter two, but I have to do something while fox is in commercial. The outcomes were pretty much what was expected, my prediction was 59 house and 9 senate and I was close. Though being from California I have some serious disappointment to deal with.

Fox's coverage was exemplary, they stayed very close to their "Fair and Balanced" motto. They featured a litany of contributors from both sides of the aisle and did it without showing much for bias. CNN tries, but the overall dislike of the GOP still shines through in their delivery. The coverage was solid overall and they served their purpose of filling time while fox was on commercial. MSNBC was despicable, the openly hateful and bitter Matthews and Maddow cringed at every GOP gain and used the losses to make fun of and poke at the opposition. Which makes it no surprise FOX dominated the rating of the night with CNN in a far second and MSNBC behind them.

The pick up in the Congress was nothing short of a slaughter, rebuking Obama and all the outrageous spend him and Congress has been doing for the past six years, yes six. Nancy Pelosi took over six years ago, and while Bush had made some bad call before that, things went really down hill in his second term. The GOP pick up is definitely a referendum, but not a open door for the republicans to go back to the pre-Obama ways. The tea party intervened on behalf of the people, people who wanted the GOP remember its roots and what used to make them different form the democrats. Small govt, low taxes, stern control of our borders, our common language and culture (hat tip to Michael Savage). If the GOP doesn't remember and return from it's senility it just might have to be tied to a tree and well you know the rest.

My biggest disappointment lies with California who somehow let Barbara Boxer keep her senate seat and re-install Jerry Brown, yes Moonbeam himself to the seat of Governor. Not too mention ninety percent of the props that went wrong. California is stuck on stupid. Arnold was the worst kind of RINO and he did the same amount of damage or maybe even more the Gray Davis. Boxer is known throughout the Nation as the dumbest person in the senate, I knew she would be terrible for California from the first time I met her, that would be when she came to visit my high school many moons ago. I love California, I have lived in New York, Jerusalem, and have spent shorter amounts of time in other places and none stack up to California, her beaches, mountains, deserts and forest are amazing and the weather is awesome. But the govt intrusion into peoples lives is through the roof and everyday I want to be here less and less. Why should I be driven from the place I love by socialist?

The next two years will be crucial to this country and the direction it goes. Times will be hard, we have to break our addiction to unlimited spending, the withdrawals will be painful but if we don't go through it that crazy future commercial depicting the Chinese ruling over us might just come to fruition.

Is It Tomorrow Yet?

The first of November on an election year has gotta be the most stressful day, throw onto that it's Monday (monday's suck every time), add to that last night's Halloween party (tequila & chocolate don't mix) and you have a recipe for a long day! Here in California especially...

We've got the Governor's race in full swing and the two major candidates are neck and neck. Meg Whitman and Jerry Brown are in a battle royale for the future of California, Brown is on the Obama diet of tax and spend and Whitman of course wants to slash taxes and bring some business back to what used to be the fifth largest economy in the world. Looking at track records Brown has a long one, of failure. he was governor before, I believe his nickname was Governor Moonbeam (a nickname he received from his then girlfriend and left wing activist Linda Ronstadt) and he was referred to as a hippie fascist, because he installed hippie causes in a fascist manner.
Whitman on the other hand has almost no political track record (she did work for Mitt Romney and then John McCain's presidential campaigns), she's a corporate titan, Whitman served as an executive in The Walt Disney Company where she was vice president of strategic planning throughout the 1980s. In the 1990s she served as an executive for DreamWorks, Procter & Gamble, and Hasbro. Whitman served as President and Chief Executive Officer of eBay from 1998 to 2008 in that ten years with the company she oversaw expansion from thirty employees and four million dollars in annual revenue to more than fifteen thousand employees and eight billion dollars in annual revenue when she stepped down. Being California is billions in the hole she would have her work cut out for her and while I do not agree with all of her ideas, she absolutely out shines governor moonbeam.

I'm not going into detail on the Boxer/Fiorina race, if Barbara Boxer is allowed to continue on her path of destroying California we deserve it, I would vote for a cinder block over Boxer.

Lastly I am going to run down the props on the ballot with just a simple yes or no, it is strictly my opinion, though I have read each in detail and I can tell you on some I gave it a lot of thought before I decided.

21: No, the parks get enough
22: Yes, the roads suck enough
23: Yes, global warming is a hoax
24: No, businesses are hurting enough
25: No, trying to fool us on this one

Things That Make You Go BOOM!

Woke up this morning to a string of bomb threats around the planet. It seems there is some kind of semi dry run of bombs in the mail happening out of Yemen. From now only one actually explosive device has been confirmed with one other possibility and at least one dummy device found in Dubai on a plane from Yemen. One flight headed to NY's JFK airport was actually escorted by fighter jets to it's destination. That must be fun to see out the plane window... Look mommy jets! Thank God nothing actually exploded... Today.

This was a good reminder that we can't let our guard down. The President spoke today and said "We must remain vigilant against terror", of course it's his Administration that has taken the word "terrorist" out of official use. But he is right, by leaving Iraq unstable, giving a timeline for leaving Afghanistan, and declaring Al Qaeda is "no longer a threat to the US", they are going to work extra hard to show us that we are still a target. Today's events might just be the beginning.

As the 9/11 anniversary rapidly comes to the ten year mark, we have to remember they started this fight and we have to be one to finish it!

...And The New Batman Movie Title Is?

"The Dark Night Rises"... OK so not mind blowing, but it's growing on me already and I just learned it ten minutes ago, from the LA Times. I do appreciate putting some thought into the titles, it's better than Batman 3 or "Batman Forever". Chris Nolan has done great things for the Batman franchise, and I have high hopes for what will no doubtingly be Christian Bale's last time dawning the cape and cowl. Other news in the article was Nolan putting the squash on "The Riddler" being the big bad for the movie. Last week Nolan was started the search for a female lead, obviously Bats is gonna need a new love interest and the rumor is she'll have claws.

In Supernews Zack Snyder has been talking about not having a centralized villain at all in the new "Man of Steel" movie. I'm not sure how that will play out with the fanboys, but that would mean you would get some good Supes does in some good old fashioned bad guys. While you could probably go that route with Batman as well, coming off of the late Heath Ledger's "Joker", Batman is gonna need one hell of a fight to have the third measure up to the Second.

One last thing, because you didn't feel sick enough hearing the news that George Lucas is going to re-release all 6 "Star Wars" movies in 3D, he has also announced the next "Indiana Jones" flick will also require the stupid glasses. Sorry to wreck your day...

I Can't See The Light

By now most of you are probably sick of being bombarded with tree huggers telling you to switch out the evil incandescent light bulbs in your house for compact florescent (cfl) ones. This is just part of the "Climate Change" scam being perpetrated on the American people. CFL's have been touted as a cheap efficient replacement for incandescents, but how do they really stack up? Not so good.

Now CFL's do use less power than the old fashioned bulbs, but the power saved doesn't cover the other cost. One being lifespan. Now the CFL;s will tell you they have a lifespan of 3 years or better, but I have never seen a CFL last more than six months, while the old fashioned bulbs last for around a year or in one case of a bulb in a fire station in Livermore CA. that has been on for 110 years, go see it for yourself at Fire Station #6, 4550 East Ave. Livermore, CA.

Then there are the dangers, yes there are dangers to both types of bulbs. The old fashioned bulbs are made of fragile thin glass that can break fairly easy. Broken glass is sharp and there is a chance of being cut. The CFL's have the same issue, with one added issue, mercury. Yep CFL's have a small but still dangerous amount of the liquid metal mercury which is poisonous. The EPA has special guidelines to clean the CFL's when they break. It is time consuming and labor intensive. One woman was quoted over two thousand dollars in profession clean up of a CFL.

Last you are supposed to go through your house and throw away all the existing bulbs in your house and replace them. Isn't that kind of absurd? Then there's the talk about the Govt banning the old bulbs, forcing you to put the mercury bulbs in your house. Oh and you can't just toss those quick to die CFL's in your home trash. Most states have strict rules on disposing of mercury and if they catch you tossing the poisonous bulbs you are looking at a stiff fine. I'll stick with Thomas A. Edison, thank you very much.

Iron Man 2 & America

When Iron Man 2 hit theaters I was in Israel and though there was a theater in Jerusalem I didn't have the money to waste on movies. Shortly after I got back the cheap "$1" theater near my house got Iron Man 2 and finally saw it. Jump to a few weeks ago when I was visiting with friends for another friend's wedding and we popped Iron Man 2 into his BluRay player.

Overall it was a good movie, almost as good as the first and that's a tough thing for sequels. Like the first there were many scenes that went from science to science fiction and that I don't mind. It's a movie after all and if you can't let the mind wander into fantasy at the movies then it's probably not a great movie. The acting was good, RDJr. has really made an amazing comeback from the drug addled days of his youth and emerged as a captivating and enjoyable presence at the movies. The surrounding cast also does well, I am not a fan of Gwenneth Paltrow, I usually don't see movies she's in and when I do I'm not happy, this is the exception that proves the rule. Don Cheadle was a good replacement for Terrance Howard, Rourke makes for a good villain even with the dumb accent though Sam Rockwell was mediocre at best. He hasn't done a good movie since HGTTG.

There is one part that got me thinking and here comes the tie into politics. Early in the movie Tony Stark is brought before a congressional committee and is told to turn over his property to the government, and in today's America that doesn't seem to far off. A couple of post back I touched on scandal during hurricane katrina where police and military were going door to door and collecting legally owned firearms from the good people of Louisiana. Then there is the Obama Administration which continually brings up mandatory govt service.

Much like Tony Stark said no and one of my post a couple back, we to have to say no! No to the suspension of the 2nd Amendment when the wind blows and no to the Obama Admin's call for mandatory service. Most of all we need to say NO to the govt takeover of all the different private industries in our great nation. The lesson we can take away from Iron Man is that the answers to our biggest problems lie in the people, not the government. To borrow a line from the Iron Man movie; That's how dad did it and that's how America does it!

Defending a Democrat? Yes!

For some time now I have been watching Juan Williams as a commentator on Fox News, very little have I ever agreed with anything he has said and I have never read or heard anything he has done for NPR (national public radio). NPR in my eyes has always been an outlet for hard left wing diatribe and overt socialist commentary. The idea that the taxpayers are forced to support such an idealogical organization has always been a bit disturbing. but now that NPR has fired Williams for "controversial" statements he made about muslims on The Factor I am in full de-fund mode.

First for the sake of clarity here is Williams' statement; "I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I've written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous." I guess honesty is not the best policy at NPR.

NPR said in it's statement that Williams' remarks; “were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR.” So being open and honest is inconsistent with NPR's standards? What exactly are they saying here? It seems freedom of speech and expression are not welcome at a station that is being partially funded by taxpayer dollars. It's time to stop paying for NPR's rhetoric. The First Amendment is for everyone, right or left, black or white, Jew or Gentile, right or wrong.

Maybe Fox News should offer Williams a full time job? Fox News seems to be the only news outlet that can live up to their mission statement, "Fair and Balanced".

NPR now says Williams was fired for going on conservative TV - "Williams' presence on the largely conservative and often contentious prime-time talk shows of Fox News has long been a sore point with NPR News executives." (linked to NPR).

The Party of No!

For a while now President Obama has been calling the Republican Party the "party of no". He blames the GOP for all the negativeness that surrounds his administration. I would like to clear a few things up, and I believe most of the party would agree. We are the party of no and we are damed proud of it. Let me explain...

In February 2009 the unemployment rate in the US was 8.2%. Obama told us if we didn't pass his trillion dollar stimulus plan it would go up to 8.6%. We said no. Congress passed the stimulus and by December 2009 the rate was at an astounding 10%. Do we know for sure the rate wouldn't have gone up anyway, no, but we never will.

In January 2009 the "Big 3" American Auto Companies were on the verge of bankruptcy. Obama says let's bail out the auto industry. We said no. Congress OK'd the bailout and promptly GM and Chrysler took the money and went bankrupt. The bankruptcy caused the break up of both companies the majority of Chrysler being bough out by Italian auto co. Fiat and the majority of GM being sucked up by the Federal Govt. itself. Both companies are still struggling to stay in the black and still owe taxpayers a lot of money. Ford, by the way did not take the bailout, did not go bankrupt, restructured the company, has been making a profit and paying off it's loans.

April 2009, Obama and Congress announce massive healthcare reform, with the govt. taking over one sixth of the US economy and federalizing US healthcare. Obama said you could keep your plan and your doctor. He said this would make thing fair and affordable. We said no. Congress passed a 2000+ page Healthcare monstrosity that not only causes premiums to skyrocket across the country but forces doctors out of their practices, regulates admissions to collages and even creates a "Civilian Ready Force" run my the Surgeon General (who by the way is not an actual general), as you saw here a couple posts back.

Earlier this year Obama introduced Cap & Trade, which would drastically change both power and environmental regulations in the US. In addition to immediately increasing unemployment in the energy sector, even more American jobs will be threatened by the rising cost of doing business under the cap-and-tax plan. For example, the cost of farming will certainly increase, driving down farm incomes while driving up grocery prices. The costs of manufacturing, warehousing and transportation will also increase. Not to mention the "Smart Grid" power technology that would allow the govt. to regulate when you use the AC/Heating in your own house. We said no. Thank God, congress couldn't get that passed, yet. But they are still trying.

On January 1st 2010 the Bush tax cuts are due to expire. This will be the largest tax increase in US history! Obama talked about the "Rich not needing another tax cut". But this is not a cut, it is an increase. We said no, to all of the increases. Congress had talked briefly on only letting the tax cuts expire for the upper class while keeping the middle and lower class cuts intact. But then put off the vote to a later date. Well 82 days left and still no sign of a vote.

There are many other examples I can give. But I will leave it here. We will keep saying to to government takeovers of the private sector, no to massive spending that has put our posterity in debt for generations, and we will keep saying to to the job killing, dollar killing Obama Administrations as long as it takes till our Country is back on top where it belongs. Till then I am proudly saying NO!

Obama Blocks 2 From My Gun Collection

The Republic Of Korea (ROK) has a huge stockpile of old American rifles M1 Garand and M1 Carbines that they want to sell back to the United States. First off let me point out that we didn't give those guns to them, we loaned them the guns for use during the war and for a couple decades following. So they are trying to sell us back our own weapons. They should just be giving them to us. But I am willing to let them make a few bucks, I mean we give ROK millions of dollars every year anyway. So moving right along, where do I send the money?

Not going to happen, why you ask angrily? Well the Obama/Clinton State Department has decided that, let me quote now; "Obama/Clinton State Department has reportedly denied the 'import' of these rifles from Korea on the theory that they might 'fall into the wrong hands' here in the US. The stories also report that the Korean plan was to sell them in bulk to importers who were then going to resell them in the US." I have wanted each of these guns for years, but the thousand dollar price tag has kept me far away. Adding 857,470 rifles (770,160 M1 Carbines and 87,310 M1 Garands) to the mix would bottom out the price and would make them affordable for all who want to own a little piece of history.

Just in case you are wondering, both the Garand and the Carbine are top loaded and hold eight rounds which make them one hundred percent legal to own in the US. They do not fall into the "Assault Rifle" ban of 2004. One thing that worries me is if the guns are returned to the Govt. without us paying, the Obama Administration might melt them down. Let's go ahead with the sale and these guns home where they belong in the hands of the people!

FEMA Camps? Healthcare Bill Weirdness?

I have been reading and reading about the "FEMA Camps" and it's pretty freaky stuff. Things like EXECUTIVE ORDER 11000- allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision. I found lots of these orders that would essentially give complete control of all people, resources and vehicles (public or private) to the federal govt. Orders that some claim are all on the books and ready to be implemented should an emergency arise. The H1N1 flu scare saw govt and media exploit the facts to scare people into lining up for the swine flu vaccine that was not widely tested and saw HHS Director Kathleen Sebelius shield both the government and vaccine makers from lawsuits for problems arising with the vaccine. In the aftermath of hurricane katrina we saw military and law enforcement disarm people trying to protect themselves and their homes from looters. I have also read that the "Black Helicopters" you have probably heard some talk about are FEMA controlled, in one video from a supposed camp the camera pans up to what looks like a black helicopter with no marking flying around the camera crew.

Now I don't know if FEMA is building camps, seems far fetched. But I can point out some wried things in the Healthcare bill starting with something PrezBo said during a campaign speech; "We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded." - Barack Hussein Obama, 2008 campaign. Here's a little snippet from the Healthcare Bill, yes HEALTHCARE;

"H. R. 3590-496 (Page 496) SEC. 5210. ESTABLISHING A READY RESERVE CORPS.
Section 203 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 204) is amended to read as follows: "SEC. 203. COMMISSIONED CORPS AND READY RESERVE CORPS. "(a) ESTABLISHMENT.-
"(1) IN GENERAL.-There shall be in the Service a commissioned Regular Corps and a Ready Reserve Corps for service in time of national emergency.
"(2) REQUIREMENT.-All commissioned officers shall be citizens of the United States and shall be appointed without regard to the civil-service laws and compensated without regard to the Classification Act of 1923, as amended.
"(3) APPOINTMENT.-Commissioned officers of the Ready Reserve Corps shall be appointed by the President and commissioned officers of the Regular Corps shall be appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate.
"(4) ACTIVE DUTY.-Commissioned officers of the Ready Reserve Corps shall at all times be subject to call to active duty by the Surgeon General, including active duty for the purpose of training."

Now, I ask you...currently we have the regular Army, the Marines, The Navy, the Air Force, the National Guard, state and local police, state troopers, first responders, firefighters, EMT, rescue workers of all kinds and in all locations. So what exactly does Mr. Obama need a private "ready reserve corps" who are hand-picked by him and report directly to him for?

There is plenty of strangeness in the "Healthcare Bill" all I can say is read it for yourself. But make sure you've got some time on your hands cause the sucker is two thousand pages! I have probably read three hundred pages and it feels like my brain is gonna melt. Good Luck.

Who's the "S"?

I don't know if you are all aware, but I am a huge Superman fan. From the comics, cartoons, TV, movies and even books. Superman has been merged with American culture over the last fifty plus years. Becoming the basis for books, music and even terminology. Everyone's heard some sort of reference and who hasn't tied a towel around their neck and zipped around their house pretending to fly.

We know now that Zack Snyder is helming the newest Superman movie, but the question on my mind and I bet many others is who is going th play the Man of Steel? With movies like Sucker Punch, Watchmen, 300 and Dawn of the Dead under his belt I think The Man OF Steel (tentative title) has a lot of promise. I am linking all the potential names to a picture so you can get an idea of how they would fit in the tights, of course one of them is actually in them so no imagination necessary.

Who has the stuff to play Superman? The Christopher Reeves standard was set at six foot four, blue eyes and somewhere in the two hundred and twenty pound range. Now I know that is a small window for the guys but to play a larger than life character like Superman you are going to have to be a big guy. The rumor mill is alive and well with names like Armie Hammer, the return of Brandon Routh, the Smallville lead Tom Welling and even Mad Men star Jon Hamm (who has officially squashed the rumor by the way). While any of these guys minus Hamm, too short, could fill the red boots with ease, Routh and Welling are a longshot if any at all, Armie has the best shot of this bunch.

Let me throw some other names in the hat, these two have the chops and the fit that I think would be great for Supes.

First everytime I see Jared Padaleki on Supernatural I think get that kid a haircut and he would be a great Superman. Second is Chuck star Zachary Levi. I know they do a good job of making Zach look like a nerd for his role but if you have seen the show recently you know Zach can turn on the action when he needs it. While Zach will need some contacts for the blue eyes, they both meet the Reeves standard and has proved their acting range on their respective shows, I've seen them funny, serious, thrilling and stoic.

This may seem like overkill to the not so interested, but to the fans whoever wears the yellow, red and blue is a big deal. Think about this, for a short while years ago Nicholas Cage was on the top of the superman list, WTH?

Back To The Caprican Future?

So Back To The Future, one of my favorite moves, is twenty five years old and the new anniversary edition has footage of Eric Stolz (Caprica) in his five week run as Marty McFly. I knew Eric was the first choice but I had no clue there was film. Robert Zemeckis shot the five weeks with Stolz, but wasn't getting the laughs he wanted. He showed the footage to Spielberg and they decided to take the chance on a different lead actor. That was of course Michael J. Fox. Take a look at the Stolz McFly;

When the trilogy first came out on DVD I bought it. Everyone needs to see these movies. You can imagine how peeved I was when someone stole my copy. But I replaced it fast and watch them religiously. The only movie I watch more is Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I can't imagine what the movies would have been like with Stolz in the lead. If it truly wasn't funny then maybe it wouldn't have garnered such a huge following and who know what kind of cosmic changes that would lead to? I wouldn't want to live in a world without BTTF!

One of the highlights of the new Piranha 3D movie is Christopher Lloyd as the scientist who has all the answers about the evil fish. He's aged a bit but is still awesome. Movie (and More Movies) Reviews

I saw a flurry of movies in the last couple days, five to be exact and I wanted to touch on a few things. Overall, they were all good, in their own ways, but some thing stood out and this is as good as any a place to talk it out.

First off the throw aways, "Vampires Suck" and "Piranha 3D". Now I know throw aways sounds bad, but I just mean they were exactly what you should be expecting. In the parody version of "Twilight" Vampires was as cheese packed as it could be and in the days of parodies like "Epic Movie" and "Scary Movie" it was exactly what you'd expect it to be. The acting was par and the jokes keep you awake, and that's pretty much it. Same goes for Piranha it's a remake of the late 70's cheeseball horror flick. Packed with nudity, face ripping gore and buckets of blood. Some would even say a distasteful amount of each.

Next is "Toy Story 3" and "Despicable Me" ( I know it rhymes shut up). TS3 was cookie cutter at best and formulaic to the extreme. We all know at tis point Disney is just putting these out to make a buck. Nothing new in the CGI department and the same characters made it a snooze fest for me. But the kids in the theater seemed to like it. DM is pretty much the same except it throws in some butt and fart jokes along with some dark scenes that are barely appropriate for the target audience. But again it garnered some chuckles from me and the kids liked it.

Last is "Salt", the Angelina Jolie actioner. Let me get out of the way up front, I still think Angie is an attractive woman, she even gained a few pounds since "Wanted" and looks healthier. Beyond that Salt is a sold action flick with the good old Russians as the baddies. While I know Angie tends to lean center left this movie was surprisingly patriotic and America wasn't the ultimate villain. I can't say too much more without doing some major spoiler damage but I will say Salt keeps you guessing throughout and the twists are fun. Per the usual you have to suspend disbelief for the extremes of the action, but that's Hollywood. Overall it's exciting and keeps you involved beginning to end. I will be buying Salt in the near future.

Nightmares

While I was in Israel I read "Obama Nation" by Jerome Corsi.

It was fascinating to say the least, it gave real insight into who Barack Obama is and how he came to be President of the United States, from his childhood through college, community organizing and on to his presidential campaign. Plus all the people who influenced him along the way. One of the biggest influences was his father, he adopted his fathers view on many things and Dinesh D'Souza expanded on that in his new article in Forbes Magazine (read it; http://bit.ly/b8aXwm ).

The books Obama wrote should have been enough to keep him from being president with out Dr. Corsi's book, but it seems like millions of people bought them but no one read them. "Obama Nation" which was first published in 2008 was supposed to be a warning at what having Barack Obama in the White House would look like. Warnings were ignored and the "Post-racial" Obama came in swinging. I don't have to tell you what Obama has done, we are all living it as I type.

Read the book, or at least the article and know if we let the mid-term elections go by and don't make some REAL changes, "Nightmare Of Our Children's Future" will be like Obama's Father's dreams... A Reality!

9 Years Later

So 9 years later as the anniversary of Sept 11 approaches again I find myself just as angry as I was on 9/12/01. I watched exactly 7 minutes of "Giuliani's 9/11", an interview style recount of the day from Rudy himself, I had to shut it off because I was so angry we let this happen.

To make matters worse 9 years later Ground Zero is still a pit, and the Flight 93 Memorial is looking to be crescent shaped and facing Mecca. How are we so buried in bureaucratic slime can we not have rebuilt the Twin Towers. The "Freedom" tower is just the opposite, it is the we are scared masses who want to be enslaved tower. Is America never going to reach for the sky again just because some muslim whack jobs caught us off guard? 9 years later there is still hope; http://www.twintowersalliance.com/ is working on stopping the Freedumb tower and restoring the NY skyline to it's proper glory. The original Twins took 7 years to build, but with modern technology and state of the art materials the new Twin Towers could be standing in 3 years. Stronger then before, and smarter as well.

I know I have written about this before, probably around this time in previous years. We can't change the past, but we can make the future right, we can give our posterity the same beautiful gift we had for the 30+ years the WTC stood as a beacon on a hill so the world could look to us for strength, stability and safety. 9 years later we find ourselves in the midst of a deep recession, a President who doesn't have our best interest at heart and turns his back on our trusted allies while he bows to dictators and kings. 9 years later America stands divided, some that want to stand by our Constitution and rely on the wisdom of God and our Founding Fathers, then others who would take us down the path of socialism and an overgrown government that taxes us mercilessly, controls our lives form our doctors to our air conditioners to our light bulbs. 9 years later the war is still raging and our Troops have their hands tied by lawyers that watch their every move and tell them when they fire their guns. 9 years later we again have the chance to make things right we have 9 values and 12 priciples we can hold to, in order to have a rebirth of what the Founding Fathers intended for us;

The Question is Who?

I watch the news, a lot and I read even more on the internet. Being a conservative republican is not easy these days. While I think we will do well in the mid-terms coming up, I am troubled about two years from now. Who can we (conservatives) put up against Obama (or Clinton if you believe the rumors), there are a lot of names swirling around, but I am not sure about any of them.

Sarah Palin- She's smart, but I don't think she has the experience to run the Country. Being governor is usually enough and I understand Alaska is a big state with big issues that the governor has to deal with. But I can't equate that to running the US, especially a US that is in a financial crisis almost Great Depression sized. I see a bright future for her in the RNC chair.

John McCain- That's a damn joke and I never want to hear it again. RINO.

Fred Thompson- I think he may have been able to do the job two years ago but now he's done.

Mitt Romney- May be our best chance, he's a governor, he's a businessman, but he's also just barely conservative. Governing a state like Massachusetts you have to be a center guy. It's a blue state and it has it's own socialized health care, I know Romney says what works for the state is not for the country but that will always be in my head, up front. Oh and I don't care about his religion, Mormons have never flown a plane into a building, yes that's how I judge!

John Boehner- He also may be our best chance. Though I don't like the idea of a congressman advancing to the seat of President. Boehner is very smart and politically savvy, he was even the president of a fairly large plastics company which gives him some business experience. But he is also a politician through and through and my gut tells me to be wary of that. Politicians say whatever they have to, to get elected the R or D mean nothing.

???????????- There are a few other names out there but it is all up in the air. I know if we want to dethrone the O we will need a solid conservative candidate who is going to produce real change, not the same old canned political crap we've been getting for the past 18 years.

A Lot To Cover

The last time I posted I was on the other side of the world in Jerusalem, over two months ago. I know it has been awhile but things were pretty crazy. I want to cover Israel first then I will get to the last month in a half.

For a guy who had never left North America going to Israel was a huge step, a new world where I knew no one or the language. I arrived in the Old City going on fifty four hours of no sleep and no idea what I had gotten myself into. Aish Ha Torah Yeshiva is a school of Jews who want to learn what Judaism is and how it all works. From the basics all the way up to deep Kabalah (no not Madonna's stupid red string). Being a Christian in a Jewish school was very interesting. I didn't tell too many people about my back round so being Jewish by birth I fit in well, I also heard some very strange things. Most of which I shrugged off but some things just stuck with me. I am not going to get into too much detail right now, maybe next post. I will say that Old City Jerusalem is an amazing place and I had an incredible experiance. I wouldn't trade the trip for a million dollars. I met great people and made friends I hope to keep for the rest of my days. The learning was very intense, I submerged myself in the culture and ultimately bit of more than I could chew. I was full on kosher and shomer shabbos (mean I kept the sabbath). It was more than I could handle and I spun out after three weeks, the day after Passover. Some good advise from a very wise Rabbi had me grounded shortly after but not before I found a place I could go and blow off all the steam that built during long days of class, a dank old dorm room and mediocre meals. I'll get to that place next, but let me finish with Aish. I learned more in the three and a half months there then any other school I've ever attended. I even picked up a good bit of Hebrew, I have always wanted to be multi-lingual and it came so easy I am going to keep learning. I ultimately want to read the original Biblical text myself. That and I figure if I can get Hebrew down, learning another, maybe Japanese will be easier.

The other place I spent my time in was Scream, a heavy metal bar just outside the Old City. Talk about conflicting worlds (though not to me)! Scream was a place I could be myself, they played the music I love and no one was judging or insulting. At Scream I met even more great people, from the staff to the regulars, who I must add were mostly Russian (or Ukrainian), I heard almost as much Russian as Hebrew! Now I did drink, a lot, it"s not something I am proud of, but it was a way for me to relax and enjoy myself. I would have burned out and left much sooner if I didn't find Scream. It helped that my dorm neighbor Mark was a metal head as well, I had a p.i.c. and we had some great times.

When I left Jerusalem for the airport in Tel Aviv I was already almost twenty four hours without sleep and that didn't change for another twenty hours. Forty four hours later I was home and getting my first nights sleep. I spent the week vegging out and figured I would get on the job hunt. But not more than a week back and I ended up in the hospital with this crazy infection in my leg. My right leg had swollen to double it's size, I had a fever and the pain was horrible. Ten days later I left the hospital pretty much the same way I went in minus the fever. The Docs told me it was cellulitus and if i kept up on the medication it would pass in time. Now two months later it is still not completely healed. But I can walk and the pain is gone so, glass half full I guess. Most of you have already heard all these stories, but I wanted them on paper anyway.

A Quick Update

OK my time in Israel is rapidly coming to a close, but since I am still here this post will be short and sweet. When I get back I will post an extended review of my time here. Both what I am doing and the politics I experienced. One thing I will say is it has been cool and rainy almost the whole time I have been here, which is out of place being this is a desert! Global Warming forgot about the Holy Land I guess. Suck it Algore! I just recently read that the US is experiencing a record low number of tornadoes this year, btw it was supposed to be record highs. Along with that the "experts" are predicting a worse than normal hurricane season as well. Funny thing is they have said this every year since Katrina and been wrong every time. But God forbid we do get a bad season and the nuts will claim some sort of victory. Weirdos! The sad part is the brainwashed masses are still crying over the melting glaciers in the north drowning the poor polar bears. Someone should tell them polar bears are expert swimmers and can hold their breath for an hour or better. I would rant more but my fingers are freezing off here in the cold of the Israeli desert.

Israel

Ok I know I haven't posted in a while, I'm currently in Jerusalem on a study trip. In my quest to get closer to God I thought this place would be a good stepping stone. I have been learning and seeing the sites, which are to numerous to name, using my time here to hep figure out some direction in this crazy mixed up world.

My internet access is hard to come by, usually I am standing outside using the signal of a nice guy who doesn't mind people killing his bandwidth. So following the news is kinda tough but from what I've seen it's business as usual for the Obama Admin. I can tell you the people here are NOT fans. Biden was here last week and it led to the Arab's rioting and many police and soldiers wounded. From what I can tell Obama is having enough trouble at home to keep him busy without nosing into Israel's sovereign business.

I have also found Israel like most other places base a lot of their cooking on tomatoes. Which would be great if I wasn't allergic! Last week the school I am at served 6 tomato based dishes in 4 days, and the cheapest replacement is pizza, more jokes on me. But I'll survive even though peanut butter is $8 for a regular sized jar. No TV or radio here makes Jason something... something... At least I can go outside and get an internet signal a couple blocks from my dorm. I had found a closer spot but it was secluded and things got dicey when 3 arabs came and started hassling me. No more close internet.

My scheduled return date is June sixth, so I will try to post here when I can. Though I post daily updates on Facebook and quicker ones on Twitter.

To Palin or not to Palin?

There has certainly been a lot of emotion surrounding Sarah Palin in the last 18 months or so, some good, most coming from the MSM just downright mean. When the state controlled media goes to such huge measure to discredit someone you know they are deathly afraid. The Left is doing everything in their power to make sure Sarah Palin is not an option for 2012. The question I present to conservatives is should she be an option?

I have no doubt Sarah is a smart woman, but can she be President? Sure she was a governor, and Alaska is a big state but it's not a very populous state. Now I know you can say the same about Mitt Romney, but his executive experience doesn't stop with being governor. He has big business under his belt, she was a local mayor. Call me sexist but another issue that has to be considered is her children. It's more than just small children but one who is mentally disabled. Having Trig is a very big burden on her, her time will always be split between the country and her children. Sure many Presidents have had children in the White House but it is different with a woman and that one of the children has special needs. Folksy nature isn't a plus either. Jimmy Carter had a folksy nature... Enough said. Don't misread me, I am not saying a woman can't be President, while I wouldn't have liked her any more than Obama, Hillary Clinton would have been a better choice for the Democrats. She would have been stronger than Obama. Sarah Palin just doesn't have what it takes to be President of the United States. I don't have a magic answer to who should run, but if we want to recapture the Executive Office then we have to find a person who is more than just charismatic and folksy.
