- The last time the US went this long with out a national budget Bill Clinton was President. Hmm a democrat, coincidence?
- Threw some peanut butter in my last batch of pancakes, slathered it with warmed grape jam and wondered how IHOP missed this.
- The Great Wall of China is 5,500 miles log, but the US says it's impossible to build a 0.7 thousand mile wall on our southern border.
- Speaking of China, I read an article about those stupid BYO green shopping bags having dangerously hight amounts of lead that are of course made in China. I am the only one who doesn't think it's an accident?
- If I was to have kids (though I don't want any), they would have to read a book every two weeks to keep the TV plugged in.
- Muslims are beating and stomping on effigies of Obama in the middle east, I thought he was supposed to fix our image around the world.
- I was at the grocery store the other day and a can of Spam was near $4, SPAM!
So I got a new cell phone last week that is internet capable and I think ultimately that will prove bad for me, in a couple ways. Yes it's a blackberry and now I know why they are affectionately (or not) called "crackberries". Having this much power at your fingertips is a bad, bad thing.
Yesterday I was on my lunch at work and was watching old episodes of "Beavis and Butthead" on youtube. Now any fan would know that B&B are hilarious and I am a fan. Of course B&B would pale in comparison to the disturbing animated shows on TV today, but in their time B&B were pushing the limits of what was acceptable, even on basic cable. The show was blamed for kids burning down their houses and many other lame examples of bad parenting and even more lame govt uptights. "Family Guy" which is on network tv, would make B&B blush and has drawn criticism from an array of groups, mostly the same bad parents and govt types. Back to my lunch story; halfway through the third episode I realized that my lunch was over and I was in the three minute grace period K-Mart gives us to clock back in. Bad me.
The other thing is Twitter; before when I got my tweets all I could do is read the headline and try to remember to follow the link later in the day. Now I have all the news when I want it and I read a lot on news and most of the time it just makes ma angry. Take (muslim) state rep Keith Ellison (D-Minn) saying “I think that we need to create a real crisis here so that the Republicans will have to answer for denying Americans unemployment benefits on the eve of the Christmas holiday,” Ellison said. “We let them off the hook, in my opinion.” Anyone have any idea on WTF he's talking about? You can see how this would be upsetting to read in the middle of a beautiful day here in California.
One thing I have to point out is a design flaw in the Blackberry, In order to type a number within a text or email you have to hit the "alt" key before each number. How hard would it be to stick an alt lock on there, I mean this is a minor problem, but coming from an old Motorola phone that had an alt lock to this brand new top of the line BBY that doesn't is just plain weird.
UPDATE: A friend told me the trick to the alt lock (alt then shift), thanx Shane!
If you go back to the first posts on this blog, you see that it didn't start as a political blog. It was watching a cartoon geared towards young children slam a sitting president. Now after again trying to avoid getting political on my blog it is a cartoon that brings it back. The messiah was featured in a 2 minute animated segment on nickelodeon talking about what a cool guy he is and what he has on his ipod. Now as a whole I have no issue with teaching children about the President, but it was the same station all those years ago who made blatant negative cartoons about President Bush. Why must liberals indoctrinate children like this? Fair and balanced would be OK, but none at all would be best. I remember when cartoons were a rabbit eating a carrot or an old navy guy eating his spinach. Or when a kind old man named Fred taught children all sorts of useful things without ever even mentioning he was a pastor who gave sermons every Sunday. Mark my words this Obsession with Obama will turn out bad in the long run. They are putting too much faith in man. Only one man has ever had the strength to support the weight of mankind and I am sorry Chris Matthews it's not President Obama. No Keith Obermann the President can't lift his arms and raise our Nation. I still have hope that President Obama will change things for the better it gets thinner and thinner every day. More and more I am hoping there will be a USA left when he is through.
