The Crumbling Obama

After watching the three presidential debates I have figured out why Obama's campaign is failing. Obama's persona is a big issue, along with the people he's surrounded himself with. Then there is also the media's complicity in the whole thing, which despite being in the tank for Obama I think turned out to be his worst enemy. The last four years have been very telling, having a record to run on (or run from) is a definite factor as well.

In 2008 Obama was a virtual unknown in the world of politics. A jr senator from Illinois he came out of nowhere and exploded on the scene with a cult of personality that just overpowered the well known Hillary Clinton in the primary and made John McCain the stereotypical picture of the Republican party, stuffy, old, white, male. Obama saw this explosion and took advantage of being an unknown, He could be whatever people wanted him to be. He was young, mixed race, had a strong voice and a name that rebellious young liberals knew would piss off their fathers. We had people saying Obama was going to pay off their homes, cars, college loans, Obama himself said that he would end racial tensions in America and would make us loved all over the world on day one. No one cared he had never held a real job, no one read the books on who his father was and where he came from. People were caught up in the cult and never stopped to ask if Obama was qualified to be President of the United States. You couldn't oppose him, if anyone asked questions you were shouted down as a racist and dismissed. When he hid his college records or distanced himself from the church he sat in for 20 years it made no difference. Nothing could penetrate the cult. But this developed into a weakness no one would see for four years. Obama like the late Michael Jackson had surrounded himself by yes-men, every word he said, no matter how absurd, was praised. When he put on a funny southern accent it was charming, when he made fun of how old McCain was, he was witty.  I'm sure someone even snatched a tissue he sneezed in as a keepsake.

Obama's halo was part of the media's cult image.

Hillary got different treatment.

The mainstream media was complicit in the cult of Obama. They ran with Obama's "Hope and Change" slogan. They swooned, they tingled, they fainted, they slobbered all over themselves to make Obama the sure thing. They even went so far as to bash Clinton, who early on was their golden girl. Remember the halo pictures? The MSM did everything they could to make him untouchable, again using the race card to push down detractors. Obama was their messiah and just like the public, did no vetting of who Obama was. This inflated Obama's ego. Nothing he did caused any strife and he loved every second. But this may be part of his downfall. Now when the media questions him he looks shocked. He seems insulted that anyone would dare question his previously unchallenged intelligence. It's just like raising kids. You can't let them win all the time, you can't tell them they're smart when they answer 2+2 wrong. If you do the child acts petulant and spoiled. Just like Obama at the debates. By never challenging him they turned him into what we see today. The problem is you can't fool all the people all the time.

After four years of Obama's policies the Country is in the slowest recovery in American history, if you believe the recession ended in June 2009 like the administration told us. Obama promised so much in 2008 it should be no surprise that he couldn't get much of it done. But what he didn't do is the least of our problems.  We have big problems and as much as Obama wants you to believe it's Bush's fault, the blame lies squarely on Obama's shoulders. The most stand out of Obama's responsibilities is the national debt. In 2008 when Obama took office the ND was $10 trillion, but a mere 4 years later is $16 trillion. Ignoring Obama's promise to halve the debt by the end of his first term, he has run wild with spending. He once said that the $4 trillion Bush added to the debt in 8 years was unpatriotic. Now he tells us that we have to spend our way out of debt, which if anyone else tried would end up on the street if not jail. Obama took Bush's bail-outs to the next level, not just banks, he bailed out the auto industry, he bailed out "green" energy companies, states, and even some companies that aren't even in America. There's Obamacare, a bill no one wanted but congress pushed through. Then there is the jobs, Obama told us that without his bail-outs the unemployment would shoot up to 8%, he told us by now we'd be somewhere around 5%. Problem is the bail-out was a complete failure, unemployment shot up over 10% and now heavily adjusted we sit at 7.8%. There are over 22.6 million unemployed today, but the number the admin uses is 11 million. They don't count people who have been unemployed so long they have given up looking all together. Obama  has started a line of quantitative easing that led to 2 downgrades of our national credit rating. While these QE's have been holding up the stock market, its a bubble that will burst when the money stops flowing from the government. Economic growth has been stagnant and this is making us look weak across the globe. Iran's dictator has questioned how much longer we can be a superpower with the debt we have. But that is the tip of the iceberg in his foreign policy failures. He let Egypt and Libya fall under the rule of radical islamist, he looked the other way during the iranian green revolution. He sits by while Syria slaughters its own and puts "daylight between the US and Israel". He betrayed our allies Great Britain  Japan, and Poland while bowing to dictators and communist and telling Russian President Medvedev to transmit to Putin that he will be more flexible after the election.

We cannot afford 4 more years of Barack Obama, not in our economy, and not in our national security. We should have been told who he was before he took the most powerful position on the Earth. We needed the MSM to do its job not foist on us an unqualified jr Senator. But now we know, we know who he is, we know what his plans are and we know what he cares about, HIMSELF. We have the ability to stop this train wreck halfway through, we can save ourselves from the rest of Obama's policies and ideas. Ultimately it will be easy, just vote. Vote for Mitt Romey, vote for real change. Change we can believe in.

The facts;

• This day in 2008 the national debt was $10.3 trillion, today it's $16.05 trillion

• This day in 2008 actual unemployment numbers were 13 million, today 23 million.

• This day in 2008 there were 32 million on food stamps, today 47 million.

• This day in 2008 gas was $3.61 in California, today it's $4.21.

• This time in 2008 there were 1.1 million federal employees, today there are more than 2.5 million.

• We haven't passed a budget in the U.S. for the last 1,240 (+or - a few) days.

• This time in 2008 Bush's operation "Wide Receiver" with the help of the Mexican govt. had zero fatalities, electronically tagged guns were recovered and was ceased. Today Obama's operation "Fast and Furious" without informing the Mexican govt. has funneled thousands of guns to Cartels, killed hundreds of Mexican citizens and at least 1 U.S. Border Patrol agent and is ceased.

• This time in 2008 the Middle East was a mess, but we had Egypt as an ally and though Gaddafi was a pest he had stopped pursuing nuclear weapons. Today Egypt is an islamic republic that Obama says is not an ally and Libya is in chaos, having stormed the U.S. Embassy and murdered the Ambassador.

• The US GDP growth rate was 3.6 at this time in 2007, it is 1.7 now.

Obama said himself, 

His "One term proposition" is in effect, his administration has been a disaster, the lack of leadership is astonishing and it is time for a new direction. It's time to fill the chair and the suit...

Where Do We Go From Here?

Being conservative in LA is like wearing a meat jacket in a shark tank. One must be very careful what you say outloud if you don't want to judged, chastised or straight assaulted. Not that I couldn't handle it, after all they're just hippies. I was at a Shabbos dinner the other night which featured a guest speaker Malcolm Hoenlein who is the executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations talking about how we needed to stop sitting on the sidelines and get in the game. The game he spoke of was sitting on our hands while Iran gets closer and closer to a nuclear weapon. Of course this involved speaking harshly of Obama, muslims and liberalism, which on;y went over so so with the crowd. The speaker did try to tip toe around direct accusations and blaming but we all knew what he was saying.

Diplomatic negotiations with Iran will fail. George Bush tried this with N. Korea, he said America (& the UN) wouldn't tolerate a nuclear NK and sent all sorts of "firm letters". Sanctions will fail. They were useless as well, Kim Jong-Il just starved the people in order to pay for his weapons program. All the hemming and hawing got us was a nuclear armed N. Korea. Sound familiar? This is the same exact situation with a much more threatening bad guy. Ahmadinejad is no pudgy dictator with a love of classic American movies. He HATES us, he HATES Israel and he speaks often of wiping us both out. Joking aside, this is no time for more diplomatic negotiations.

This leaves us with very few options; 1) We can shake our fist with empty threats until Tel Aviv (or New York or Los Angeles) is wiped off the map, then be forced to respond with massive action. 2) We can stop trying to tie Israel's hands, they have done a fine job of keeping both Iraq and Syria out of the nuclear world. Not to mention they are our ONLY real ally in the Middle East and deserve our support. 3) We can take care of it ourselves, I know it's not PC and the liberals will piss and moan, but what are they really gonna do? They're just hippies.

I asked Mr.Hoenlin about characters like George Soros, and he told me we have to call people like him out on their undermining of progress. Warren Buffet, Jeff Immelt and Richard Trumka all need to be brought into the light so their deeds can be seen by all and put to the American people to decide whether we follow them deeper into hell or start climbing out.

No Future?

A few days ago the space shuttle Atlantis landed on Earth for the last time. With that we (the USA) have retired our fleet (what's left of it) of shuttles and ended the American space program almost completely. NASA is a former shell of what it once was, devoting more time to climate change (a hoax) and making nice with muslims (that don't care). American, might, industry, ingenuity and pride are being swept out to sea. Thanks partly to the Bush and mostly to the Obama administration's murdering of our economy. 


The cost of the entire Apollo program and the Shuttle program combined is right at 400 billion dollars*. While  four of five years ago that may have seemed like a lot of money, keep in mind that Obama's failed stimulus that was supposed to keep unemployment under 8.5% cost 800 billion. So for half the cost of the stupid so called stimulus we put men on the moon and space ships going back and forth for 30 years. Add the ISS (international space station, that's called international but essentially we paid for and built the whole thing and let other countries paint their flag on.) in for another 100 billion and it's still sad. The future lies in space and America is giving the future away to China and Russia.


Russia is celebrating, they are now the kings of space and we have to pay them millions of dollars to take our astronauts out to the ISS. Far less glamorous than our shuttle, the principle of Russia's Soyuz rocket and capsule system for sending humans into space has changed little since Yuri Gagarin became the first man in orbit in 1961. Yep we're flying in over fifty year old Russian tech. But it's not that bad, last year they switched the Soyuz capsule from an anolog computer to a digital. Yeah last year...

So the question whether space exploration is really desirable at a time when so much needs doing on here on Earth comes to mind? It is a serious question that requires a serious answer. There are many arguments, from jobs and education to technology development and national security, for keeping us in space. Though one argument stands out, that argument is exploration, and that we should continue to challenge ourselves for the one basic reason; self-preservation as a free creative, intelligent society. As opposed to a stagnating, socialist slave society.

War Protesters! Where?

When George Bush invaded Afghanistan the war protesters were there, when he invaded Iraq the numbers exploded. War protesters were demonstrating across the country. Holding signs that cursed Bush, his family and even calling for him to be hung. Bush also caught a lot of flak for supporting Israel, even though he did very little to help them.

Today, though winding down we still have troops in Iraq. And if you've been watching the news you know they are still dying. Afghanistan is a complete mess, we have no strategy, no plan to win or even an exit. We have dropped bombs and killed Bin Laden in Pakistan. Months not days later we are still in Libya, without congressional approval by the way and it's not winding down either, boots on the ground is inevitable. Now we are dropping bombs in Yemen. But surprise, surprise the protesters are no where to be found.

No one should be surprised by this. The double standard is so obvious here. When it's a Republican he can do no good, and a Democrat can do no wrong. The MSM is complicit in this as well, during the Bush administration there were daily updates on how many soldiers died. When's the last time you saw a body count on CNN?

Basically if you were one of those pacifist that I argued with at school who said war in never right while Bush was in office but are somehow too busy to protest Obama, go take a flying you know what at a rolling donut.

UPDATE: Two more soldiers were killed in Iraq today, and after checking the whole front page of nbc news, I guess it wasn't important enough.

Thoughts On Jobs

So the news is reporting unemployment at 8.8% which seems good, on the surface. But let's look at the numbers. The current US work force is 138.1 million and the "Official Unemployed" is 13.4 million, but the actual unemployed is 24.1 million. That makes the actual unemployment rate more like 17%. Now I know Obama is loving this "official rate", even though the reason the rate is as "low" as it is, is due to the Bush tax rates that Obama swore he'd repeal and then folded like a french man. We're still 7.3 million jobs lower than when Obama took office. 

It looks to me that this was Obama's intention from the beginning. He knew he wouldn't repeal the Bush tax cuts, in his first term, that would have put a guaranteed single term stamp on him. Don't be fooled, like the stock market this is a manufactured bubble and it will burst on command. Due to the impotence of the Republican party, Obama will be reelected and then the real fun will start. The Bush tax cuts go, cap and trade will return and continuing slaughter of American infrastructure will spike unemployment, gas and utility prices, along with food shortages. This will finally bring America to the place Obama thinks it belongs, at the bottom with everyone else. Dinesh D'Souza told us that.


I know most people will say it's loopy to think that Obama wants us to fail, but all the signs point that way. There is hope, real hope not the Obama campaign hope. America is tough and has survived poor leaders before, primarily because of her people. We the People, who with God's help, push through the hard times even when we have no national leadership to speak of. Have Faith and stay strong, call Congress and the Senate, vote and remember We are a shining city on a hill. The Gipper is the best reminder.

3 Reasons - Lybia

With all the "uprisings" going on across the Middle East why are we intervening in Libya? Why not Bahrain or Syria? I can't answer those questions and this post will not be backing the President's action. To the contrary I don't think we should be involved at all anywhere in the recent uprisings short of protecting our ally Israel. I know Obama is no friend to Israel and neither are most Democrats, but the US and Israel are connected and that's the way it should be and that's the way it should stay.


One thing we have to look at in Libya and other places, like Egypt (who already fell) is who these "Rebels" or "Freedom Fighters" or "Youth" that are revolting actually are? Now while these countries seem like Muslim strongholds their leadership was actually quite secular. Yes I know Gadaffy was liked to the Pan Am bomber but the closer we look the more it seems like the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Queda are part of the rebellion in Libya. I've gone into detail on the MB before and despite what the State Department tells you they are not secular, hell their name is Muslim Brotherhood. With all the bitching about how we armed the Taliban and Saddam Hussein why should we take a chance on arming people who will most likely turn our weapons against us next week!


Another thing that really raises a red flag in Libya is the President's complete lack of clarity at why we are there and what our endgame is? Again, lots of bitching took place when Bush went into Iraq and Afghanistan with no exit strategy, so is Obama making the same mistake? Are the Democrats ignoring it because it's Obama?  If we set up a "No Fly Zone" to protect innocent Libyans that Gadaffy was killing with air power then why haven't we wiped out his air force and left already? We usually don't get involved in civil wars, we're not getting involved anywhere else. The MSM made a big deal the other day of "rebels" capturing "oil cities", please tell me this is not a war kinetic military action for oil?


Last thing is Gadaffy himself. When this "kinetic military action" started we heard different stories from the White House and the State Dept. and the Military. First it was Gadaffy can stay as long as he stops the slaughter, then he had to leave, then he might stay and now I don't know what's going on. I do know that Pan-Am bomber Abdelbaset al-Megrahi has implied that Gadaffy ordered the bombing personally and for that I say he needs a dirt nap. But, if Gadaffy sleeps with the fishes and his country falls to the MB like Egypt looks to be, that is a problem that can't be ignored. As much as I want al-Megrahi and Gadaffy to hang for what they did the safety of our ally Israel will be in jeopardy when Egypt goes MB and will be worse if Libya follows.

What Does It Take?

I think we can all agree that when Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was yelling allu akbar while beheading US journalist Daniel Pearl, that was an act of terrorism. So why when 21year old Arid Uka screams the same words while gunning down American Soldiers in Germany, is it not terrorism?

German Prosecutor Griesbaum told reporters that the suspect (I hate saying that when we know it was him) told German police he went to the airport with the intent to shoot “as revenge for the American mission in Afghanistan.” But the White House refuses to call it terrorism. He had been spending an extended amount of time on radical islamic (terrorist) websites and had expressed his hateful views on facebook. State Department mouthpiece P.J. (muslim brotherhood is secular) Crowley when asked if the murder of two U.S. airmen was a terrorist attack said: "Was the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords a terrorist attack? I mean, you have to look at the evidence and look at the motivation and then you make a judgment." So a mentally deranged psycho who has been stalking a congresswoman and a radical islamic fundamentalist are the same thing? That's insulting to the mentally deranged.

Ultimately this is no surprise, we are talking about the same White House that switched out the words "terrorist attack" for "man made disaster". Obama was supposed to be the one to bring peace to the world, he was supposed change the ill feelings George Bush created. Though somehow with all the changes to our vocabulary, bowing and other playing nice Obama is doing, from the looks of things they hate us more. Again, no surprise, I've always told the liberals that Islam hates them more than conservatives. 

Oh and it is also no surprise, how the MSM is glossing over this story like it's just another random act of violence. CBS and NBC both gave brief mentions of the tragedy beyond ten minutes into the nightly broadcast, ABC had a bit more depth in their coverage, but only the first night, by the second night it was gone altogether. I'll be the first to say FOXNEWS isn't as "fair and balanced" as they claim, but when every other station is equivalent to state controlled media... Well let's just say there's a reason foxnews is the highest rated news channel.

The best news to come out of this is that the terrorist would have kept shooting but his gun jammed. Now we already know from the Ft. Hood massacre that one guy committing mass murder in the name of radical islam is not terrorism, so my question is, how many does it take? Now we know 19 men hijacking and crashing planes for the same reason is terrorism, so if the German shooter had a partner would that be enough, or does he need 18 more guys?

Time To Stop

You may have heard talk lately about the "US Debt Ceiling". Just in case you don't know; the Second Liberty Bond Act of 1917 established a statutory limit on federal debt. Congress had previously approved each debt issuance separately. The debt limit provided the U.S. Treasury with more leeway in the administration of debt, allowing for modern management techniques in government finance. The Treasury has been granted authority by Congress to issue such debt as was needed to fund government operations as long as the total debt (excepting some small special classes) does not exceed a stated ceiling. Currently we are it $14.015 trillion and rising one million dollars every twenty three seconds or so. The ceiling is $14.294 trillion, so as you can tell we are coming up on it fast, you can watch here, it's quite depressing. Congress has raised the ceiling every time we have come to it, matter of fact we have more than doubled the ceiling in the last ten years.


Now we have never actually hit the ceiling, thanks to the steady raising's, but it is my opinion that it is time to stop. No one knows what exactly will happen when the time comes (sometime in march btw) but it probably won't be good. So yeah I hear you asking "Then why not just raise it again, if not won't be 'good'?" Short answer is we can't afford it. Even if the consequences are severe, and they probably will be, our children's children will already be saddled with our debt at this rate. Sure we could push off the impending punishment, but do our kids deserve it? Personally I might say yes, but I have no kids of my own and all and all don't like kids. But it's the big picture I am talking about here. 


We made this mess, with Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest... I mean Clinton, Bush and Obama, who we elected, the fault lies with us and we need to take responsibility for it. Yes it will suck (technical term) but this is what I have been saying for a long time now. Tightening the belts and taking responsibility. Times will be tough and things will get lean (most of us could use to lose a few lbs. anyway), but if we stand together and trust the system that our Founding Fathers built on that foundation of God given rights, we will pull through and be stronger for it.

Another Year Gone By...

Yeah I know I have been disregarding my blogging duties, but the new year brings new life to The Expert's Blog. Twenty ten was was an ill fitting cap to a turbulent decade. This time last decade we were worried about the millennium bug, Ten years later and we wish it was something so trivial. We started 2001 upbeat and refreshed, but we're quickly reminded of the insanity of the world on 9-11. To call the following years a roller coaster would be an understatement. We all wish it could be 9-10-2001 again, but the illusion is gone and dare I say we are in for a tougher decade.


The sharp turn toward socialism in America brought on by the Pelosi/Obama agendas will not fade into the night. We will have to fight to regain every inch of ground lost to the last four years of democrat change, yes four, Bush's last two years gave new meaning to the term "lame duck". Bush lost all will to fight the coming wave of liberalism and folded in every way. Giving up on social security reform, winning the two wars we were deep into and forcing banks, businesses and people to take responsibility for their actions by way of bail-outs and stimulus packages. Obama, who promised change followed with more of the same, ignoring social security, essentially throwing in the towel on Iraq and doing the least possible in Afghanistan, and of course issuing more stimuli and bail-outs. The out of control spending has dug us into a hole our grandchildren's grandchildren will be stuck with the bill for. See for yourself! 


All hope is not lost, we can still recover from this mess and come out a better people. But it is going to be hard, there will have to be sacrifices from everyone. Take my state California, we are going to have to go bankrupt. California is not to big to fail, taking a federal bail-out will only prolong the problems. Times will be tough, but the re-organizing that bankruptcy allows is exactly what California needs. Schwarzenegger talked big and I was one of the many who fell for his tall talk on Gray Davis and ending the spending. But instead of terminating, Arnold went on a spending spree, taxing and spending California into oblivion, and that's where we are. Unfortunately this is not the bottom, things will have to get tougher before they get better and California will be ground zero for the coming strife.


It doesn't matter which way we go, left or right, we are gonna have to tighten our belts. The difference is whether we let socialism squeeze us down to nothing or after a time of hardship we reemerge stronger and smarter. We need only to look at history to see our future. We are following the same path as ancient Rome and if we don't change course we will suffer the same fate. Do some homework, read up on Rome, particularly Cicero





He is consider one of the greatest orators of his time and he warned Rome of it's impending doom and was ignored. I am no Cicero, I don't claim that kind of ability or talent, but I can see the correlation between us and Rome and don't want to end up another failed nation doomed to see it's glory forgotten by history.


Forget about 9/10, we will never be able to get that back, remember 9/12, it's our only chance. Glenn Beck put these in his "Common Sense" book and I just keep thinking they are the right way to go.

Flashback!

If you go back to the first posts on this blog, you see that it didn't start as a political blog. It was watching a cartoon geared towards young children slam a sitting president. Now after again trying to avoid getting political on my blog it is a cartoon that brings it back. The messiah was featured in a 2 minute animated segment on nickelodeon talking about what a cool guy he is and what he has on his ipod. Now as a whole I have no issue with teaching children about the President, but it was the same station all those years ago who made blatant negative cartoons about President Bush. Why must liberals indoctrinate children like this? Fair and balanced would be OK, but none at all would be best. I remember when cartoons were a rabbit eating a carrot or an old navy guy eating his spinach. Or when a kind old man named Fred taught children all sorts of useful things without ever even mentioning he was a pastor who gave sermons every Sunday. Mark my words this Obsession with Obama will turn out bad in the long run. They are putting too much faith in man. Only one man has ever had the strength to support the weight of mankind and I am sorry Chris Matthews it's not President Obama. No Keith Obermann the President can't lift his arms and raise our Nation. I still have hope that President Obama will change things for the better it gets thinner and thinner every day. More and more I am hoping there will be a USA left when he is through.
